Sad this that Jaguar ended up here. The damage is easily repairable. If it was mine, I would have fixed it for sure. Insurance companies always let you down, but nothing stops the owner from repairing the car. I did so with insurance write-off BMW and Alfa Romeo and both ended up great and still owned.

These trannies were very strong and where actually the best, they were Mercedes Trannies and they were beefed up because of the massive torque of these engines.. There is no oil in the engine, that is not a good sign.

Hi Mitch, maybe worth getting the screen and the bonnet (hood) liner, maybe take the wood trim and wrap it, guessing you don't need the engine after you sorted yours. gas tank too. gas suspension? nice video.

Had to put my baby down today, sorry you had to go through this Mitch. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, we also gave her a fantastic last day with all she could eat nuggets from McDonald’s and an ice cream cone from Dairy Queen. This was the last act of love we could do for our babies, we took their pain and made it our own. They’ll live on with us and good lord willing and the creek don’t rise they’ll meet us at the pearly gates

@@MitchGrooms absolutely, now it’s the day after and it still doesn’t feel real, but I’m back at work as of about 15 minutes ago, and the 911 calls will keep my mind occupied but that deep hurt is still there. It was very peaceful, and she went out in my arms and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Better they went out like this with peace and dignity versus suffering through a long slow process!

I totally agree, I’ve been doing it for years…. It defeats the purpose of buying old cars cheap if you can’t maintain them yourself!
@72442conv
@72442conv Ай бұрын
You can definitely drive an old car as a daily driver, that is what people used to drive daily back then... Anything built after the interstate system was built, basically cars from the late 50's early 60's on can be daily driven. Cars built before the Interstate system are not meant to be driven at high speeds, a lot of them struggle to do over 65-70MPH. Now, if you can't do the repairs yourself, and maintain the car yourself, it is probably not worth it, mechanics will kill you as you found out...

Hi Mitch, i'm Paul from England and i've got a 24 year old XJR which i've now owned for 14 years and I do pretty much all the repairs and maintenance on it myself. I have heard that American mechanics are not keen about working on European cars but I am astonished at the prices for repairs. I think it is probably much cheaper to keep these Jags on the road over here and much cheaper still if you do it yourself. Keep up the good work, they are beautiful cars and worth keeping.
