Perfect choices and very hearty fish too. Very durable. I have a 40 gallon natural tank stocked with 5 yellow zebra danios, 5 cardinal tetras, 5 harlequin rasboras and 12 pygmy corys now going on almost 2 years without a water change (Evaporation top ups only). Every fish still thriving. I also have 2 nerite snails and an assasin snail as well. Every fish on this video I recommend. Cant go wrong with these choices.

I have just rescued a 4 year old beardie apparently has never been handled, how would you personally Recommend I start?
@TyeDyedIguana22 сағат бұрын
We would recommend giving them a week or two to adjust, before handling. Bearded Dragons are very food motivated. Offering them food, by tong feeding, is a great way to build trust! Frequent and consistent interaction is important, even if just in small durations. Positive reinforcement also does wonders! Make sure to end every interaction on a good note. Rewarding them with treats is a great way to get their attention! Congrats on the newest member of the family! Do they have a name? 😃

What size cage do you have for it, and what do you feed it?
@TyeDyedIguanaКүн бұрын
For the babies, an enclosure the size of a 10 gallon would be fine. Adults are going to need at a minimum 20 gallons, but larger would be better. These guys aren't adept climbers and spend much of their time burrowed in their substrate, so something taller isn't necessarily better unless you want deeper bedding. We typically feed very small pinkie mice when they're young and they can move all the way up to adult mice when they're older. Because Beta fish are territorial most the time, you should put a clear divider between it and the other fish so it can get used to them, also need a large tank, everyone puts betas in small tanks which is cruel, 10 gallon minimum for a beta, if there are others then 20 gallon atleast
@TyeDyedIguana3 күн бұрын
They definitely do better with more space, that's for sure! Larger tanks are also easier to heat safely and maintain proper parameters, smaller areas of water are more prone to dramatic fluctuations in water chemistry. Do you have any bettas of your own right now?

I agree on all of these except for bearded dragons because they are easy pets but they are quite pricey their inclosure because of how big it is is gonna cost a lot of money, and the bugs can get kinda expensive to.
@TyeDyedIguana3 күн бұрын
All exotic pets are expensive, it's not unique to bearded dragons. For that matter, all pets. Have you seen the price of dog food lately? 😅
@connorkitchen72854 сағат бұрын
@@TyeDyedIguananot as expensive as the other ones on this list. They need a basking spot of around 110 Fahrenheit, high intensity uvb, and an enclosure of at least 120 gallons, considering they get up to 20 inches and are semi-arboreal. Not to mention they don’t just need insects, they need a large amount of leafy greens in their diet. Aside from demeanor, they really aren’t good beginner reptiles. Ball pythons also need a 120 gallon enclosure but at least their feeders are less expensive. I know you’re promoting these reptiles because you are a business and probably have a lot in stock, but please understand that your suggestions and the information you give out is taken seriously by your customers, and could lead to an animal having a sub-par quality of life. Your profits are not more important than animal welfare.

If municipal water has bacteria in it the chlorine from the municipal water source would kill it. Once the chlorine has done its job it converts to chloramine. Clean water doesn't have chloramine or smell like chlorine. When you get into a swimming pool and it smells like chlorine you are actually smelling the chloramine which means the water is very dirty and that the chlorine is doing its job. Tap water that smells like chlorine (actually chloramine) is very dirty and I would not rely on Prime to purify the water because something is wrong at the source.
@TyeDyedIguana3 күн бұрын
What exactly do you mean by purify? If the chlorine is doing it's job, then there's no bacteria left in the source water. And Prime does it's job by converting and breaking down remaining chorine and chloramines. What little ammonia is produced by the breaking down of chloramines is also bound into a safer form by Prime, until the tank cycle converts it. Prime also has the benefit of making higher levels of nitrite and nitrates safer. You are left with clean water for your fish through chemistry.
