4:39 Nope that's a bit of a FIB cause you still CAN do Non-Union work but it'll will be under "FI-CORE" which only means you don't participate in Union Decisions i.e. Vote . The Union Hopes you never learn that term or find out about FI-Core

My question is how hard is it to get acting jobs once you get into it because I've heard it's very very hard. Like 50,000 people applying for one job . Or auditioning for the job however you want to put it

I have 4 costars and 2 recurring costars (one of which should honestly be a guest star) i just had the talk with my mgr about leveling up. Right before the strike in late 2022 and 2023 I had some series reg, guest star , recurring guest star auditions etc . Now just trying to regain my momentum after the holidays .

I know I’m a little late to the comments but I have some things to share about rejection. It is completely normal in the industry it’s okay to feel down and sad, don’t worry about always remember that other actors are in your shoes. Being rejected doesn’t diminish your worth, skills, or talents, as an actor/actress

I'm currently writing a film and intend to become a SAG signatory to be able to cast some specific actors I would like to feature. I have written the film with a character specifically for myself and it's going to be considered a supporting role, probably closer to a lead by the time the film is done being written. I will also plan to be the EP and co-EVP I am working with a financier to put funds towards the project so it will most likely put them into the MLB or LB agreement range. As one of the lead crew members, am I allowed to submit a Taft-Hartley for myself? If a TH is denied, I understand there is a fine and that it would be about $500 (est.) but would that still make me SAG-eligible.?

what about $2.5K for a 60 hour course to train?

👍 Absolutely RIGHT and well said! Great advice for many amateurs with stars in their eyes. This IS a business. A desire to be a good actor means nothing... you've got to PROVE how good you are, like any business. However, this industry has been known to promote people who aren't very talented (casting couch "favors") 😉 yes, that's a real thing and it happens more than many would think. 🤫 Those who prey on the desperate and/or ignorant are the worst of the worst. 👎

do acting agents work the same sort of way as modeling agents?
@ActingResourceGuru Жыл бұрын
They work in similar ways, but the commission structure is different. Typically, theatrical and commercial agents earn 10%. I know print modeling agents usually earn 20%. If you want to learn how to land an agent, check out my program Agent Alchemy at AgentAlchemy.info.

Yes. Thank you. This is an important thing to know, so many are in the dark about the difference, especially on a contract level. Per contract with a management agency, it will usually stipulate exclusive propriety with talent, unless referred by them to another management agency as your "mother agency." However, this doesn't prohibit your agreement with an "Agent." Management agencies like to throw around their use of the "agency " word in their contracts, but this is a clever legal device, arguable and discouraging to talent seeking out other representatives. Thank you for posting this video. It's gotta be a godsend for many. ❤

i used NINE 9 "the un-agency" and within minutes i was canceling my plan, they listed an "open call" on Instagram for a Hollywood feature film. i applied and they had me attend a zoom call just to sign up for the agency. once there i quickly noticed that jobs that were being posted on their database were the same ones i got for free from other sources, Next upon reviews both on YT and the BBB i found out that at least over 100+ people were filing complaints within the past 3 years. After reading some of them they all sounded exactly like my situation except so went in person so they paid the 400$+ full price while others paid 99$ for the online non- refundable fee. in my best judgment i do believe that this was a waste of time. 3/27/2023

Ajarae, I respectfully disagree with you. Acting like others arts is extremely difficult path to take. 98% of actors don't make a living at it. Now I know you did not mean it to be, but your headline is frankly misleading.
