who do you select a specific node on the struture for harmonic response analysys to know the aceleration of that specific point? linear aceleration and angular aceleration also ?
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 3 жыл бұрын
For working on node, In mechanical use option: Select-type-select mesh. This will enable us to select & work on nodes, This option is there on left side of filters. Then, Select node of interest, Right click & create a named selection. Apply a nodal force on it by selecting named selection in force selection. In results, Insert frequency response-acceleration, For scoping method, Select named selection. However, version I am using is 16.2 there only option for directional or linear acceleration is there, If you are using version other than 16.2, Check if option for angular acceleration is there.

I am having a problem in applying Cylinder support. When I select the cylindrical faces of my Crankshaft then it says "No selection" done. I don't know what I am doing wrong Can you please help
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 3 жыл бұрын
This happens when our geometry is an imported part. Mostly in igs files the single face splits up into two if we consider for example a cylindrical. Face. You can save your part in parasolid format & check. For cylindrical support it's necessary that face should be recognized as a surface of revolution which is absent in igs files. Also, If you are considering round holes to apply cylindrical support just delete & recreate them in Ansys. No need to create para solid file then.

How can we identify the range of frequency that a component may likely face?
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 4 жыл бұрын
We have to check that no value of frequency coming into results is equal to natural frequency of component. Also, For specific components we have standard operating frequencies, In modal analysis we can also define them as start & end frequencies & check results.

Hello, I am testing a vibration fixture with base excitation. I did modal analysis with 6 mode shapes of the fixture and the natural frequencies start around 2000 so no Resonance as such but now I am not sure how to give inputs of frequency which I want for base excitation. The frequency increases from 50 Hz to 500 Hz in single direction with a constant 10g acceleration. Can you please guide me ?
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 4 жыл бұрын
Ok. Just perform modal analysis again by increasing no. Of mode shapes. Consider those set of frequencies which are coming close to natural frequency value.

What is the meaning of colour in clash.? Green orange
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 4 жыл бұрын
Green highlights components having condition of join or contact between them. Orange indicates clearance. However, In clearance condition in the smaller dock accessory window the components don't display in orange specifically. But, In main window we see them in orange, This only helps us to identify them with orange showing "selected" condition.
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 4 жыл бұрын
In catia if we select any part, Feature or assembly it displays in orange in graphics window showing it is selected.

How did you made the hidden lines appear as dotted lines? Please explain.
@innovativemechanicaldesign418
@innovativemechanicaldesign418 4 жыл бұрын
In Catia, Hidden lines appearance can be controlled in two ways: 1. In part mode, We have the inbuilt option of hidden line display in view toolbar. 2. In drafting, While creating any view, Right click: go to properties there we can check on all options like hidden lines for example to enable their display in view. Now, If we want to change default display of any entity- select it go to properties , There multiple options are there to control display. This is true for hidden lines also. In this session, I think you are referring to axis lines appearing as dotted, It's the default display. But, If we want to customize display, We can go for above method. Also, In drafting just select entities whose display have to be changed & go to graphic properties toolbar to select various types. I think, This will clear your doubt. Still, If any query is there, Please let me know. Thanks.
