Best video on KZbin. 13 seconds long and it solved the problem! None of this “since the beginning of man kind we have been yearning to caffeinate…” type of intro to drive views. Thank you!

My coffee machine stopped grinding. Lights on the "grinding" were out. I did everything, cleaned everything, took out the grinder, watched all the videos. Only to find out this after 3 days. Never felt so stupid in my life, you are a lifesaver.

It's disappointing the tamp is designed to only do between 19g and 22g when most modern espresso recipes are more like 17-18g just feels like I'm wasting coffee every shot.

What country are you in? On my FB groups and reddit not in the US were replaced with ones that work properly for brew temps of 199-205F . Now they just offering a refund. Yet Denmark and Germany after firmware upgrades to A.01, A.01 are working fine. Unfortunately USA firmware at B1.7, B1.7 has cold brew temps of 135-150F

Most people still get this after dialling in. The basket just needs to be damp, that's all!
@ernestomachado1

Having the wavy tamp issue with the new Oracle Jet and the support hotline was not very helpful at fixing it. I read about damping the basket by using chat gpt search and now it works even with super old not usable beans. So that is actually the best advice
@MuriiYoutube
@MuriiYoutube 8 күн бұрын
@@ernestomachado1 I have the same issue with my Sage Oracle Jet, which I bought yesterday. Adding some moisture to the basket does help, but I don’t think a new machine should require these kinds of tricks. I’m using the same beans and grind size, but you can see that the coffee flow varies greatly, which indicates that the tamping pressure is different each time. This leads to inconsistent coffee.

@@MuriiKZbin My workflow is as follows: 1. I fill up my espresso cup with a blank shot to heat up the brew group, the porta filter and the cup 2. Weighing 19 gr of coffee beans and filling the hopper just with that one dose (I actually replaced the hopper with a single dose one) 3. Remove the preheated porta filter from the brew group and shake off the water 4. Start the grinding process and stop it manually if necessary. Sometimes the grinding won't stop because I restrict the amount of coffee 5. Check the weight of the porta filter (I tare the scale with the empty filter before grinding) and give it an additional manual tamp (probably unnecessary though) 6. Pull the shot manually and stopping the flow as soon as I reach the desired ratio by using a scale With that workflow I get very consistent results

@@ernestomachado1 Thank you for the detailed information. The question, of course, is whether, with a machine costing 1900 euros that promises to be almost fully automatic, you should have to go through all these steps one by one when preparing coffee. I noticed that the screw on my tamper was set to two threads. I’ve now tightened it completely. The first espresso has been ground and tamped properly, at least. Depending on how things go in the coming days, I’ll decide whether to keep it. I’m considering switching to the Barista Touch Impress, which is almost as good, has a semi-manual tamper, and is much cheaper.
