If they change how the slide is preformed I hope they put a way to change it back cause I honestly used it alot for positioning in the faster fights against ray dau and arkveld button layout wise

Sns is like the ultra instinct weapon in this game, you just keep going FOREVER

I don't know about world as I didn't play enough of it but I use the item while weapon drawn ability quite often in Rise, cause it lets you "jog" (as in default max speed) while not consuming your stamina, compared to holding the sprint button while using the item. It allows me to create distance from the monster while conserving my stamina in case I need it.

I've only played with CB and Hammer and now wanted to try something else after 100+ hours. I went with S&H and this video was so helpful, thank you!

I know this video is one month old, but… sharpnesses modifier not affecting the shield, couldn’t it be that Shield has ALWAYS the highest damage multiplier? We don’t know what MV they wanted to give to the shield, so maybe it’s always doing peak damage. That would be great, since it doesn’t matter how much sharpness you have, your shield will always do peak damage and stun. Apart from that, I’m able to aim backstep after guards perfectly with focus mode. I play with mouse and keyboard, so maybe on controller you won’t be that fast with the camera, but it’s a thing with mouse

You pretty much summarized pretty well what was ailing SnS. My problem was with Perfect Rush being really sluggish for some reason. It did not feel responsive as in Sunbreak, so hopefully this was fixed as they say. It seems like I had to press stuff extra hard to get it to execute. I don't know if I am describing it right. SnS will still be a beastly weapon. I am so glad that shield is super responsive as I was using it a lot in defense in Sunbreak. If Embolden comes back, probably not, SnS will be a beast for me. If not, I am picking up Lance as my backup so that feel with stay for me.

FUN FACT: Sky85sr chose his channel name because his real name is Skyler Eightyfive Sr (he has a son named Skyler Eightyfive Jr)

CB main starting a new playthrough doing SNS only, since i've really loved the idea of having backhops and metsu to play around with. Appreciate the vid since the learning curve for new weapons can be rough, especially when it comes to the little stuff like the guard back hop, i frequently mess that up.

I remember having fun with this weapon during base rise, but looking at it now at post-game, man, that disgusting blue sharpness. 🤢

1:13 man I spent hours labbing trying to get this sort of inverted perfect rush consistently because it's so useful for repositioning but I couldn't get the timing down, now knowing when to hit the input the already coolest weapon got even better tysm

whats the best SnS armor build if you have any?

I'm aware that I'm a little late for this, but does anyone know if sword and shield's shield attacks are affected by critical?

The only thing I was worried about is how spammeable is the new attack, not big fan of it, and wouldn't like to see a sns speedrun just doing that attack again and again. Apart from that, didn't see you doing a single one back jump with the long auto attack combo, where do you have to press your attack button in the right moment.

Its interesting that the ninja sword is the worst. But it has 100 percent infinity which means critical hits every time. I know it doesn't get purple sharpness. But still. I will try it out eventually.

I actually find myself using sliding slash a lot as a gap closer. and the scaling slash is very useful to have a wirebug free way of reaching higher up hitzones with some regularity. And the upward boost at the start of a falling bash can allow you to avoid some low to the ground attacks if you time it right. It's tricky though and tough to get so good it's reliable.
