No grill lights is kind of crazy. Or at least a small dash light on the dash.

This was awesome to have Heroes Next Door on the channel. I have been watching them since the beginning and it's great to see them on a podcast! Keep up the good work as well, love watching your vehicle upfits!

Is there any trade off by going with the interior front light bar vs a roof mounted one?
@1075EmergencyVehiclesАй бұрын
The interior light bars can cause some glare on your dash
@mtbokor1969Ай бұрын
@@1075EmergencyVehicles I didn’t even think about that. What about from an overall safety perspective. Intuitively I would think that an overhead light bar provides more emergency lighting versus an interior mounted front light bar only provides lighting. I would think if you’re gonna go with an interior light bar then you have to really think about, the lighting install to make up for the loss of what you give up when you don’t have an overhead light bar😊

It's time to normalize PTSD in first responders and stop treating them like they are broken and a risk.

Maybe we need a TV Show showcasing volunteers. Hopefully they will have white over red trucks for everyone to copy! LOL!

Two factors mostly. The existing guys are aging out and so overloaded and strained with training, regulations, families, work etc and simply do not have time to work on recruitment. Second, the younger generation has almost zero feeling of responsibility or obligation to volunteer or serve their communities. Most probably don't even understand their fire departments and EMS are volunteer. And those that do are of the "what's in it for me" mindset. They are individuals that have only been taught to put themselves first. We have failed to raise them to understand how important volunteerism is and we are going to pay dearly for it.

One additional point - Gen x is numerically small. People have been having fewer children. These two factors combined mean that there is a much smaller pool to recruit from because you are essentially looking for Gen x kids - some of which would already be in their mid thirties. Boomers were a numerically large generation - those were the ones where the competition to get a spot at a fire academy was really tough. As the boomers have moved on there is only numerically small Gen x and their numerically small Gen x kids left. Numbers are starting to return to the military and Iaw enforcement, fire fighting won’t be far behind.

@@markprice1974 Numbers may improve for career departments. I doubt volunteer fire departments will see much of anything.
