Hey, for a budget stay we recommend the Oud-Zuid area, for instance the The Flying Pig Uptown or the Stayokay Vondelpark.

I just got back from 15 days in Bellagio. No matter where you chooose to go, do NOT go late May to early September. It is completely OVERRUN with tourists, especially in Bellagio as thousands of day trippers unload from Como City and spend the day there. In July and August, it is common to get a North African heat wave that comes up like we had for 10 days that it was 96° F /38°C. And unlike the US and Canada...EVERYONE smokes. In restaurants, streets, beaches. You cannot get away from it. Just accept it.
@misstouristcom2 ай бұрын
I visited in August and it was indeed crowded, but in my opinion still OK. If you don't like the heat, then I would also recommend to visit before or after August - it can get pretty hot there! My experience was however completely different in terms of smoking - I traveled with a small child so I would make sure there is no smoking happening around us, but this was never a problem. Plus, smoking in restaurants is not allowed in most countries in Europe

If ever I moved to London, then definitely I’d stay in Camden Town! It’s cleaner than any other area of the city, and the inhabitants are WAY friendlier.

Are Costa and Playa Dorada appropriate for older folks seeking a quiet experience away from resorts, congestion, etc
@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
Yes, I would say that Costa Dorada and Playa Dorada can be good options for older folks seeking a quieter experience. While both areas have resorts, they also offer peaceful spots and beautiful beaches. Costa Dorada is known for its tranquility, and Playa Dorada has a mix of quiet areas and amenities. If you prefer to avoid resorts altogether, you might still consider Sosua or Cabarete for an even more relaxed atmosphere.
@dovygoodguy12963 ай бұрын
@@misstouristcom How are the two places different from an ordinary resort?
@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
@@dovygoodguy1296 Both are actually resort complexes with multiple hotels, meaning there's many extensive amenities, and a community-like atmosphere, unlike ordinary standalone resorts 🙂
@dovygoodguy12963 ай бұрын
What would you recommend as the best choice for older couples on a first visit, looking to stay away from the crowds, cruises, resorts and noise but near amenities? Would it be downtown? Would it be Sosua? Cabarete? By the way you should probably know the town is pronounced with the E at the end . ..not without as in CABARETT!! How different is Puerto Plata from Santiago de los Caballeros?
@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
Heyyyy, Thanks for the pronunciation tip! 😊 Anyway, for older couples looking for a peaceful stay in Puerto Plata, I recommend Sosua or Cabarete. Both offer a relaxed atmosphere with beautiful beaches and local amenities, without the crowds and noise of downtown. As for the differences between the two cities, Puerto Plata is a coastal city with lovely beaches and historic sites, while Santiago de los Caballeros is more metropolitan with rich cultural experiences. Enjoy your trip!
@dovygoodguy12963 ай бұрын
@@misstouristcomI'm familiar with those differences, but as a newbie seeking a quiet experience away from crowds and tourist ghettos,would Santiago be preferable to Puerto Plata?
@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
@@dovygoodguy1296 Yes, I would say that Santiago is a better choice. It's quieter and less touristy compared to Puerto Plata, while Puerto Plata tends to be more crowded and commercialized :)

@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
While every neighborhood can have its challenges, Harlem has become a popular and thriving area with a lot to offer. Like any urban area, it's important to stay aware of your surroundings, but many people visit and live in Harlem and have wonderful experiences. If you're planning to visit, there are plenty of resources and guides to help you enjoy your time there safely! 😊

Hey any safe area near airport
@misstouristcom3 ай бұрын
For a safe area near Johannesburg airport, consider: - Kempton Park: Close to O.R. Tambo with many hotels. - Bedfordview: Safe suburb with good amenities. - Sandton: Upscale area with excellent security and facilities. These options provide a good balance of safety and convenience.

For anyone visiting the area in an RV might I suggest Rancho Sedona. It located on Oak Creek within walking distance of Tlaquepaque. It’s a great little park we have stayed at many times.

What is good mid range hotel in West Sedona? It’s my first time there next month
@rvtech101Ай бұрын
@@Gigi-mc2zb Sorry Gigi, we don’t do hotels. I work at an RV dealership and can take used coaches for vacations. Last time I stayed at a hotel in Sedona it was a beautiful BandB in Oak Creek Village on my honeymoon 30 years ago. Sorry I can’t help, but when you are there can I suggest visiting Tlaquepaque, a huge beautiful shopping center, and definitely walk around downtown! If you’re up to hiking, definitely West Fork, it’s reasonably level and easy going, but absolutely gorgeous! A little more advanced would be “the birthing cave” , keyhole cave, and my personal favorite Soldiers Pass! A trip to Bell Rock is also a must! Hope you have a great trip, it truly is one of the most beautiful places in our state!
