I have the same issue with mine. No matter how I flip it or try to hang it higher it makes no difference. It still hangs to low that I scrape it on almost everything

i am thinking of using alluminum for the floor. would glue fome around the edges same as the wood design. good or bad idea?

So you lay the pvc pipes in the gaps between the floor chamber humps? Are they just loose like a rib or you fastened them to the underneath of the wooden floor board? Im thinking of doing the same with mine 😄👍

I really want to go camping for like a week. But none of my friends or family are into camping. And I don't think I'd want to go alone. Seems so, lonely. Haha.

So I did this mod 3 years ago along with a couple of other mods I thought of and I'm still using it regularly. LOVE IT. I didn't use the can with the holes mod. I haven't really had that issue with ash building up. I also bought a Santa Maria grill attachment from Gabbys Grills and it's Awesome. I use it too on a regular basis with real cooking fire wood. Love this little grill.

Love the video! I bought the gold too and couldn’t believe the poor functionality of it. Been meaning to do this mod but might just do one bigger hole with slide flap to close it off and controls air flow. Not sure yet. The ash tin idea I already do on my Master forge verticle smoker and it works awesome!!! If you play with the amounts of holes in the tin with the bottom vents wide open you can fine tune the amount of holes to your exact temp for low and slow or grilling or bbq’n as we say up here in Canada! Great job!!!

Damn your awesome, I have the silver or basic one without carry handle and I can tell you that you did that bottom vent like a professional. The vent on my smoky joe looks just like the onw you made.

You should cut up another tomato can or get a metal cup to act as an ash catcher. Just like the Kettle 22" does. That permanent ash catcher is a pain in the butt, but its a great coaster to hold an ash catcher cup. I can't believe I didn't think of using a tomato can as an ash barrier. But with airflow at the bottom and on the sides, you'll have some fabulous temperature control. By the way, how does the Weber behave when manipulating the air flow from the bottom and the sides at the same time? Let me know as I am doing this for my smokey joe mini-smoker conversion.

This was the reason I didn't buy this one. Wish I saw this before last weekend. I'll definitely try the smoke box tho. Great job!

Helpful hint, flip the bolts and wing nuts holding the legs on the opposite way than you have them now. Makes clean up a lot easier inside the kettle

Have you noticed the 1 2 3 on the floor inner tube says 2 outer says 3 is that the order you need to properly inflate it in?

Just finished mine thing is pretty sweet I'm thinking of making a video of it tomorrow and posting it up rapped floor with that pipe insulator then used strong milk crats for seats with swivel seats on them trolling motor then my registration plates I made from foam bord with sticker numbers and letters hang off the side

I have that same trolling motor on my seahawk 2, I also got mine from craigslist, paid 50 for it it works perfect

Do you still run the boat? Can we get a update on anything else you have done. I’m starting mine this weekend. I’m curious on how your floor worked out when it came to having in two part rather 1 long board. Can you please tell me what you think about the floor stability or if you wish to have it just one piece floor. I’m a female with no help transporting and want it to be broke down easy. Thank you
