As a big fan of slashers and exploitation films in general, this one was def weak like you pointed out. I can’t see half of what’s happening, it’s just physically too dark. I found myself getting really bored really fast. Def slow paced like you mentioned. Cool review man

Not really sure what the argument to be had is here. We root the same for Butcher, Hughie, Starlight in season 1 as we do in the newest season. Why have they been likened to a "leftist" team? They stand for exactly the same thing as they did in season one? What exactly here is: "woke"? As you say, The Boys is a satire of celebrity worship, capitalism, consumerism, political greed and corruption. It is a thought experiment of what happens when you feed that system with a compound that gives them incredible powers. The comics themselves started out as a reaction to George Bush's administration and the events that followed (9/11, The War on Terror). It is inherently political and social commentary is essential for a piece like The Boys to remain interesting. Otherwise, it becomes the same, empty, concequenceless shell that all other superhero shows and films are. Just silly. Does it parody the 'right-wing' more than the 'left-wing'? Yes. What does that have to do with Wokeism? Absolutely nothing. I can only assume that, since you've digested 3 seasons already of consistent political discussion and social commentary that has always parodied the right-wing, Christian conservatism and neocapitalist consumerism, that the 'woke' you describe is simply Frenchie being depicted in a relationship with a man. That is the only, only thing this season has done differently, and suddenly, the show is classed as 'woke'. It is funny watching groups of people realise that, the show they loved parodying bigotry, was written with them in mind.

I think this is a great question. I do think it disproves the whole “2 gender” debate. Even when I was a child, I saw gender as a spectrum. You could be super masculine or super feminine or anything in between. As long as others are comfortable and happy within their own skin, I don’t see the big issue with how people identify as long as they aren’t hurting anyone

I detest the woke agenda with a passion and I'm a die hard fan of the Fallout franchise....There's nothing woke to be found in this show. Sure, there's a trans-whatever, but the Fallout games have always been quite progressive on that matter. Same sex marriage for instance was already there in 1998's Fallout 2 which I believe was one (if not the)of the first to do so.

Limited pixels and rose tinted glasses have people remembering the games as this grimdark gritty experience. The kind of kids who only play with 40k toys so they can feel edgy. Og fallout was silly, goofy, stuffed with tons of tongue in cheek satire, social commentary, and old pop culture references.

@@nixarrowman78 yeah the same guy that wrote into his lore that we are running out of nuclear energy as a resource while also writing in nuclear fusion. The show is full of writing and character inconsistencies, silly nods and Easter eggs to the video games, set pieces and costumes that are no better than cosplay. Shiny brotherhood of steel armor sets. Shampooed and conditioned hair all throughout the apocalypse. ,while also trying to be a real life adaptation. 10/10 guys since the original fallout creator said it's good. (He was not the only guy to work on the game and had lots of help to fill in his plot holes and subpar writing).

This show was awesome. Not a 10/10 but certainly a hell of a good time and it’s a 8/10 to me. Lucy kicked ass as a character and not once did I think she was being pushed down my throat. She was likeable, goofy, naive, badass, and a great lead all at the same time.

Fallout Games are more "woke" than the show in that it's a game that is critical of capitalism and the americanisms that were so prevalent in the 1950s and 60s. It's also done in a very fun way that can range to a silly poke to a complete deconstruction. I think people like being angry and toxic fans across every form (star wars to football) thrive off of a I was here first so F U attitude.
