Hell yea we finally have a modern day warrior game that looks like a ps3 game and not a ps2 game! And whoever thought it was good idea to only let us play one character genuis give that clown a raise then fire him!

On your keyboard there's the F5 key... that's your quicksave button. Give it vigorous use, and any situation you come across is much more recoverable. Knowing that, and quickload via F8, will open up the world for you and give you more chances to test out anything you'd like! Edit 2: Lol by the end you are vigorously saving the game, you got it boss!

only 30 minutes into stream, dunno if you picked paladin or not, but if you did, please note that straying from your alignment as a paladin lost you your powers in old school dnd, as well as in baldurs gate 1-2. i dunno if it does in 3, i havent played (No money?) but the possiblity exists. i figured i might as well jot this down, just in case for future playthroughs, if you dont end up picking paladin.

Just discovered you while looking for blind play through (Which you may want to add to your titles or w/e for easier searching). But, I’m enjoying your editing and your play through. New sub, new like for more Okami! Personally, my origin with this game is, it was my FAVORITE game for the PS2. I have played this game and 100% it likely over 5 times total. I would sit up, getting in trouble JUST so I could play this game. I loved the fluid motion of the wolf (was obsessed with them at the time). I loved the little comedy moments like the Sensei or a NUMBER of other things down the line (No spoilers!) I remember the number of times I would huddle under the blankets, cuddling my cat on the floor and looking up at the screen my parents had in the basement gaming/kids room we had. I remember having a little walkthrough binder I had printed out as a kid so that I could find all the special bead collectables. I remember even being the person to help my sister/friends in their save with all the little mundane things (finding all the animals to feed, or trees to restore, etc.) I remember it being a bit of a fight as to who would get to play on the PS2 between my big sister and myself xD Needless to say it was often her, so watching other people play it again is a WHOLE new level of nostalgia!

I know okami is 18 years old but hearing you call it retro… 😂 it’s gotten a bunch of remasters so it feels still new and timeless to me! Enjoy! I hope you finish it 🎉

15:54 they disappeared because you went through the torii gate! Torii mark the transition from the human realm to the spirit realm, and since you’re a god, you’re able to pass through that divide! If you walk around the gate rather than going through, you’ll be able to talk to Camille and Camellia (sisters, fwiw 👌)

The exploring is so satisfying in this game. Theres so much to do; I usually end up writing down all the places I want to come back to that look like they require different powers.

Here’s a tip: you can rotate the camera when in “brush mode”. It might help getting into some more tricky areas later. And it might be good to buy a few of each kind of animal feed. That way you’ll always have some when you find some critters for praise.

One of my favorite games ever made!!! I remember just buying it used from GameStop because I was mesmerized by the art style on the case. I struggled my way through the sometimes twitchy Wii controllers and still loved it to death. It is the only game I’ve ever gotten every achievement on. Hope you love it.

I played it when it first released on PS2! Iirc my older sister got it as a birthday(?) present, and I’m pretty sure it was its art style that got her interested in it. It’s been one of our favorite games ever since, and I think individually we’ve gotten it on every system it re-released for except for Wii (though I have tried the Wii port and my time with it was Not Good!)

Wow. DW3 was my favorite back then and this is looking like a more difficult and fun version of that said game. I haven’t pre ordered a game in over 6 years. Today I’m pre ordering my first game in 6 years.💀😊

I played it back when it was still on the Wii. It was given to me as a gift literally just because I liked animals and was my first real video game, which looking back is CRAZY. I was pretty young but was a huge reader and was in my mythology era, so I loved the story and all the characters. And trust me, it all gets better and better

I first played it win it originally released oh so long ago. When I saw the trailer I knew I had to have it. Save your money with regards to the small items. There are "equipment" and "technique" upgrades you can unlock from NPCs in the area you just cleared of curse.

I forgot to mention in the first episode, but the foundational joke of this game is that "okami" is the Japanese word for "wolf", "Kami" is one of the Japanese words for a god, the prefix "O" means "great" or "ruler", meaning that "O-Kami" means both "Wolf" *and* "Ruler of the Gods". 😎👍

Seeing so many people now playing Okami for the first time is such a gift. It really is something so special and we’ve known that, but now EVERYONE can really truly know it. I hope you continue playing, it’s such a good time! If you’re okay with a gameplay tip, I’d recommend looking into Floral Finishers. When you defeat an enemy, there’s a moment in its death animation where time slows and a ring of flowers appears around it. When that ring happens that’s your chance to use a brush technique on the enemy and get a currency called a Demon Fang, which you can trade for special items from specific merchants. It’s completely optional to do, but the most useful items tend to cost of lot of Fangs, so it’s best to try and get them whenever you can. Most demons need a specific brush technique to get the Finisher, so it’s also a fun way to experiment when you get a new ability!
