You might want to consider making this video using a natural fiber (cotton, cotton terry, linen) rather than microfiber. Microfiber is made from petroleum products, is a plastic, and when washed, pollutes the waterways with microbeads of plastic. Any polyester materials are not eco-friendly.

Thank you for letting me know! I will definitely look into a natural fiber instead for the next set I make!

They are my favorite sock needles by Lykke! I don’t remember the exact cord length but they are US 0 probably 32” or 40”

Part 2 Video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIKsk2lnqNZlhMU The Part 2 video shows how you can modify one of the socks to switch the side the seam is on! Now rather than knitting the same sock twice with the seams on the same side, you can have two socks where the seams are on opposite sides so when you wear them the seams can both face in towards the center! As always the full patterns associated with the original and Part 2 videos are available for free on my website :) www.knittinghousesquare.com/feet/socks-knit-flat

How long do you think this might take to knit? ( a pair of course lol 😊 )
@KnittingHouseSquare

Depends on your experience knitting - usually takes me about a week to knit a pair if I knit a few hours each day 😊

Is the large good for a men’s shoe size? Edit: also would this work for patterned yarn, since we need to sew it up? I was looking at Paton’s Kroy sock yarn but I don’t know if that would work.
@KnittingHouseSquare
@KnittingHouseSquare 7 күн бұрын
Yes, I would use the large size for men’s socks! You could use patterned yarn - the only place it may look a little funny is the heel, where the colors could gather a little differently

I understand what you are saying to organize your socks but when you start you knit the 25 stitches then you slide the 7 stitches to the 25 stitches. Those 7 stitches haven’t been knitted so doesn’t that mean you are on 2 different rows

Thank you for the review!! I have my eye on the yarn winder by lykke cause my current one can‘t handle big amounts of yarn. At the beginning you called it a „jumbo yarn winder“. Do you or anyone else know how much it can hold/handle? I tired to rewind a yarn cake of 4ply/250g with my current winder and that ended in an absolute tangly desaster; so that would be the minimum amount it would need to be able to handle, more would be ideal!!

I avoid ladders by using Phrancko's Travelling loop technique. Instead of pulling the back needle all the way out I draw out 4 stitches format and bend them over and knot from there. Sometimes five if your stitch markers are going to dangle and your doing plain stitch and/or not doing rib stitch 4 is best so you end your rib stitches on a purl. The other neat thing about this method is that it keeps your first row on the circulars from twisting. and you can easily weave in your tail by knitting the first row after the cast on through the back loop. I never get ladders this way and I don't have to tire y hands out by having to pinch the first few stitches.

I liked this video a lot but I have a critique. I think showing the toe decreases on the video would have been better. Going to the pattern was really going out of the way and there are people watching this video that are beginners in knitting and don’t know how to read a knitting pattern.

How do you position the thumb gusset for left and right sides to better reflect the anatomy of the hand (as the thumbs angle somewhat downward as opposed to coming straight out the side of the hand).
