Hello ! I have a LG OLED48C46LA and I can not use the USB ports for recording because they are disabled due to region restrictions (EU country GREECE) . Can this fixed with the service remote control? Thanks in advance!

After all the previous models they still implemented this into to c4 as well. Here i am trying to figure it out only to realize ive been wasting my time. Who wants to reset their tv every day? Feels bad knowing you wasted thousands of dollars on a garbage tv.

All these tips do not work on the latest firmware! This method does not work for TVs whose menus are entered using the P-only button My LG C2 would dim a static image after about 2-3 minutes of inactivity. I wanted to fix the problem through the service menu. My image thankfully didn't dim when switching between light and dark, but the dimming issue when idle was also annoying I went to the service menu, but I didn’t know yet that this was a big bug on the new version of Web os.... and get a huge flying square with the words “factory mode press instop” But that's half the problem Imagine my surprise when I found out that in this mode, even with the GSR and TPC settings turned off, my TV began to change brightness depending on the brightness of the picture! I was shocked! I wanted to get everything back as soon as possible What I did: 1. Pressed the Menu button on the service remote control 2. Then pressed the Home button on the standard remote control This will take you to the classic menu where you can take a photo of your settings But I was still tense because the TV was still in factory mode and if I reset the TV I would see the flying square again. Many comments state that pressing the "INSTOP button" will reset the settings to factory settings, which may result in the brightness (ASBL) settings remaining turned on forever, even though they were previously disabled by default I decided not to risk it and did a factory reset while in the standard menu (but still in Factory Reset mode) And a miracle, everything worked out and returned to its original state! Yes, due to the reset, you will of course lose calibration and application settings, but by default, GSR and TPC will definitely not be enabled I think that if your problem is initially changing brightness during dark/light scenes, then an intermediate solution would be to stay in factory mode, and then use the menu and home buttons to open the classic TV view Also, every time you reboot, you may have to go inside the secret menu and disable these settings (dimming) again But I still preferred to do a full reset, and I’m very glad that everything came back without consequences, and I was even able to save my setting. But keep in mind, you can only repeat the settings inside the TV mode. Your calibration settings, if any, will be lost Good luck!

The approach in this video means you have to stay in Factory Mode which is not ideal to say the least, here is how I solved this: 1. Download ColorControl to a PC on the same network/WIFI 2. Ensure you are able to connect in CC to your TV (test Turn off/on screen) 3. Enable Expert - Advanced Settings, you will now see in the Expert Menu "Enabled Full Service Menu" 4. Click "Enable Full Service Menu" 5. Click INSTART on your service remote, now you can Turn off TPC/GSR 6. Click INSTART again and you are now not in Factory mode and these settings will save even after a power cycle Your welcome!

@delofordАй бұрын
@idproductionstudio3981 well they are wrong then. It really sucks if you're using it as a monitor. Eventually, it will dim with any kind of static image on the screen.

Is there a way to do this without the service remote?

Haha, i found where the Posts tab (from All the Subscribed channels) is.. Where my Subscription Button is and then down under are some sub-tabs with videos, shorts or posts and stuff like that. But saddly some of the Subscribed Channels are kind off spamming with posts, and then scroll alot down i found from other Channels other here and there something.😅 It should or could be a tab where i click on a Subscriber and underneath there it could be a shortcut.🎉

Hi, Neon. I have "fixed" the FACTORY MODE menu that shows if you turn off dimming on the C3. The "fix" is to always have the menu come up when you turn on the TV, but then press Settings on the normal remote control (not the factory one). After it loads settings for 30 seconds, you can then hit Input and choose which input you want, and use the TV normally. Maybe an idea for a video? Since everyone who buys this TV will have this issue.

It fixes the dimming problem yes. But this guy on the video leaves the TV in service mode. That is his trick. He never pushes IN STOP on the remote. And if the TV is in service mode then the switching OFF/ON procedure is a little gimmicky, because you always have to push HOME on the user's remote and wait 30 sec and then push HOME again and then select your HDMI/PC input. Switching your TV ON procedure is a little long and circumstantial. I name this error, LG engineers are not the most clever ones, the internet is full of "OMG...my LG C2/C3 is dimming my PC input in every other minute" complaint. Can't they read? They don't fix this. I use my TV in this way because dimming is so annoying.

You are correct this approach requires IN-STOP to get back to User Mode, there is a way to avoid doing that and not lose your settings everytime you power cycle: 1. @@deloford It's OK, I'am trying. At the moment I have problems. I installed ColorControl, but it says: "It seems there's no LG TV available. Make sure it's connected to the same network as this PC." OK, but my router says: LGwebOSTV-UhiE, wired, MAC:..., IP:192.168.68.53 MSI-X670E-CARBON, wired, MAC:..., IP 192.168.68.50 So my PC and my TV both connected via ethernet cable, and are on the same net. Something is wrong with ColorControl, it can't detect this. My TV is OLED42C21LA , webOS Version: 8.3.0-28 Do you have any idea?

Then I went Expert -> Enable Full Menu and then everything worked as you described. It's fantastic, the TV works like new, but there is no auto brightness dimming. Thank you so much !!!

@telelaci2 glad it worked, the beauty with ColorControl is you can also set it to turn your TV on and off when Windows sleeps/wakes or powers off/on, one of the main drawbacks of TV as a monitor gone! Lg charge nearly a 1000 bucks more for this with feature in their comparable PC monitors.

Has this actually fixed this issue or does it come back every time you reboot the TV? Was considering a C£, but it seems the C2 suffers from this also? Apologies if this has already been answered.

Hi again to Neon. I tried this again and got it to work following your instructions. After turning off the dimming, and verifying that everything is great, I turned off my TV. One hour later I go to use it and I see FACTORY MODE, Press INSTOP key to go to User mode, press green key 7 times to go to User mode (user remote control). Please help me fix this!

Thanks for all the comments mentioning how changes are now impossible on the c3. I had bought a service remote and was going to go through the steps but now I just don't want this junk on my desktop. I'm within the return window so it went back today no questions asked. If LG is going to play these stupid games I'm no longer going to be supplying my business

2:10 DO NOT turn off System 1 > Dimming, otherwise you won't be able to adjust OLED pixel brightness. This has nothing to do with LG OLED self-dimming. If you turn it off, be prepared to sear your eyes at night.

For disabling the auto-dimming. I have a C3 so I had to enable the hidden menu and do the step mentioned. It works but then I can no longer control brightness from the standard menu and I have to play around with the advance menu and it doesn't seem to play well ... I've just reset it to standard ... disabled "eco mode" and set to PC / gaming mode and it's really not that bad ... I prefer that then having a static high brightness that is pretty annoying to change manually.
