Does anyone know how the Spanish murmuration in the background translates?
@dizzydaves2007Ай бұрын
@@chrisj2539 1177 #1 -- Some of the phrases translated include "but this is a thing of crazy people maybe a party" "but everything is blue. Blue cause I'm on a trip". These two are from that extra verse "I'm here but I'm not here. I know my body is here but my head is out there flying. Flying out there" "I'm right here with my buddies. My friends. Whatever you wanna call them, my scene. So say hello to them". The rest in the final verse aren't very clear sorry. Something like "and who is that woman? You know what woman. That woman is a uhhh". link www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=17749 #2 -- ...out of the middle came a lady: azul cosa de locos pero asi es, bueno, pero todas las cosas estan azul azul, porque estoy ??? (blue thing of the crazies, but thats how it is, right, but everyhting in blue, blue, because I am ..???) am I going crazy?: si aqui pero yo no estoy aqui mi cuerpo no esta aqui esta volando volando, verdad afuera (yes here, but I am not here my body is not here my body is flying flying, right, outside) and then: aqui estoy con mis padres..???...es mi onda ( I am here with my parents...???...it's my deal..) soon she returned: ...???...tengo, tengo (???..I have...) and raised it to her lips: y esa mujer que le encanta...???...(and this woman likes...???) Anybody got anything better or more accurate let me know. It's hard to distinguish sometimes because of the overlying music

The wisdom of recognizing the value of "common" people as they struggle to improve their own lives and the lives of others, as expressed in this song, is as relevant today as it was in 1971. This song could have been an anthem for a generation, every bit as profound as that expressed in "Blowin' in the Wind." Maybe it's time has finally come. For creating this song, I must say, thank you, Kathy Smith, wherever you are.

For those who are interested, here are the lyrics to "Blessed Be the People:" There’s a soul that I know -- he is rusty, he is gold He’s my sunshine -- he’s the one I’m thinkin’ of. We have flown, we have known we are out here all alone We are aching, we are breaking here for love. To the boys and the girls and the children of the world Who’ve been reaching for the teaching from above: Blessed be the people who have died to live. Blessed be the people who have tried to give. In a cartwheel in a spin, in the music of the wind We have cried where we have tried to understand. In the magic we are in, in the secret from within We’ve been hopin’ just to open up our hands. Blessed be the people who will break these chains. Blessed be the people who awake through pain. Through the silver and the gold and the lives we’ve bought and sold We have cried where we have tried to truly give. Through the joy and the pain and the weeds in summer rain We are learning, we are yearning just to live. {Melodic chanting in harmony} Now, Now, Naah, Naah, etc.

Love this cut. Nice ear-worm guitar goes nicely with the vocals and he lets it rip through your brain on his lead guitar riff. Then, voila, he repeats that stunt on the next cut....No. 1 Man. LOVE IT!!

As cheap as US record companies are I'm surprised that they didn't adopt this idea and have all 'B' sides just be the 'A' sides in reverse.

This song was considered controversial at the time of its release-Despite the fact that it reached # 3 on the Billboard Hot 100,it was subsequently taken off the radio because it was perceived to be offensive towards folks who were battling mental illness.

It’s to my understanding that keyboardist Lonnie Jordan spilled wine on a mixing board, this was the inspiration behind Eric Burton writing these lyrics. I so missed the 70’s.
