In this question, it said the parents were “dismissive” so that alluded, to me and my thought process, that the parents were in the know about the child condition and ignored it. Could you please clarify/explain why you wouldn’t makes a CPS report given that the parents were dismissive? Seeking clarification in my thought process given this scenario. Thanks.

I arrived at my PSI testing center around 20 minutes late as I was traveling across two states. I begged them to allow me to take it. Nothing can be done. This is a HUGE flaw. Should at least allow for the system to not Lock you out. Human error is a thing and SW should be advocating for flexibility. I am at fault but advocating self to take the test did nothing.

Agreed, I would also choose D. They are already dismissive and they said it’s worse. So how do we know they are being dismissive if they parents have not already been talked to?

It truly needs luck to pass this exam. The majority of candidates choose a D for the question #1 in particular. We have a clear information the parents do not take the child for medical treatment and are dismissive to a child's concerns. Isn't that, in actuality, typical neglect? You have no idea how they want you to respond. Sometimes it's ridiculous.

I agree a bit with you here that it sometimes feels as if it takes a miracle, but I think one of the key things to take away is that you never want to assume, and always work with what is given. The way you care for your family may be different from the way some else cares for theirs. Cultures are different-- most cases people aren't rushing to "address" an issue that may appear minor until it's at the tail end of a problem-- doesn't make it neglect but simply the way the family functions. I have tested 5 times, so I understand your frustration, but I will say if it isn't in the scenario then leave it out. Don't look for what you can't see. In the scenario very little was given. How do we know the plan of the parents? How do we know that they can afford the visit? How do we know if the family is providing home remedies that just isn't working? It may appear neglectful (because is identified that professional medical treatment has not been sought) from a professional's view, but again we have very little to work with. It didn't mention tears to the skin, or pus or bleeding or even gangrene. For all we know this could be eczema in its worse state, we don't have much information/ detail to work with. Work with what you have. Some parents lack the education and understanding and resources. Allowing a school nurse to bring to the attention of the parents their options is less intimidating than a social worker addressing CPS issues for something that could have been handled at a level of communication. My two cents. Nonetheless- trust the process. And if you need a study buddy from a far, let's connect! Be blessed!

@@beemaree67 I sincerely appreciate your input and support. I have had enough of taking this test numerous times. I am competent to pass practical examinations but not the real ones. Despite having years of clinical practice, study guides, and tutorials at my disposal, the lack of a "licensure paper" discourages me. I am using accommodation on the test that helps me with reducing anxiety level. I am open to any suggestions.
