Great video!! I've owned a 2020 G25 and now own a 2024 Tige Ultre 25ZX. I have to say the Ultre does surf a little better than the G, but its 4 yrs newer and the I havent compared it to the redesigned G hulls. I did NOT like the rotary dial on the G25. Like you mentioned, it was a pain in the ass to use when your surfing and navigating on a moving boat. Sitting in the hoist or when you're tied up, it works just fine. But I still chose to just use the screen in 95% of the circumstances. A friend of mine now is selling Centurions and is trying to talk me into buying the 2025 Ri265, which I'm seriously considering. We don't wakeboard much at all, but we do wake surf A LOT, so the best surfing capability is intriguing. And we do have a world class surfer that surfs behind our boat from time to time, so having that level of performance is important. I really like the new Ultre and its "luxury" features and performance. I don't like the ride quality in choppy water of the Tige. I feel the older G25 handled rougher water better. Not sure how the new G's hull design feels though. We are on a lake that gets a little chop, so ride quality is important as well. Tige did do a great job on the Ultre model, and its fit, finish, and overall build quality is very good. Curious if you have any input on the Tige Utre 25ZX vs the Ri265 that I'm considering going to. Thx!!

Speaking of ATX, I have a 2021 20' ATX and currently shopping for a bigger boat. I think I'm going to end up with a Tige Z3. Back to the ATX though, while shopping I have looked at the other "budget" brands, MC NXT, Supreme, Axis, etc. The ATX has more features and just a nicer boat compared to the budget brand boats. I plan to go with a Z3, because the dealer experience is awesome. They have been great with me since I've owned the ATX. The dealer experience for me has me set on Tige'. I like surfing, but I am by no stretch a pro and I like the simplicity of the Tige and setting up the wave. We will see how it goes.

I’m a Malibu guy I havnt paid much attention to how supremes age but I do notice axis boats upholstery does not age well. My 2011 Malibu has all original upholstery and is in great shape. I’m wanting to upgrade and looking deeply into supreme. Iv had 2 Enzo’s over the years and like the ride but hated having to list the shit out of them to surf. I need to get on a supreme asap

Our local Malibu dealer just went out of business, selling left over 2023/24 boats for pennies on the dollar. This industry is going to need a complete price reset, they are off there rockers thinking they are going to be selling boats for $200k+. Those days are long gone.

I'll help you with the TIGE/ATX situation as you seem to have a lot of unknowns. Tige is a privately owned, debt free family business who throttles production to weather the economy with supply and demand. Tige pulled production back significantly 6-8 months before all other boat builders to help their dealer network stay healthy during a volatile year where others continued to produce boats at a carelessly high volume. So the fall off was calculated and intentional. Tige ATX now has the lowest number of non current inventory in market. Prepare yourself for them to come on strong with new product in the coming years and at boat shows you will see their dealers selling only new model year inventory. This will also create excellent $$$ position as the market is not saturated with blowouts that degrade value. I hope that helps with your questions.

Boats and rv’s are a mess and rates are terrible. Rates are 7%++ and the last year was terrible for new sales. Boats rv’s and sxs manufacturers have lost their mind with current pricing. 21-24’ boats for 200-350k is just insane and if you bought a boat between 21-23 you are so far upside down you are stuck unless you plan to write a huge check.

I bought my boat in 2022. I keep a close eye on the used market. If I wanted to sell my boat right now, I'd probably get about 80-82% of what I paid for it. I plan to keep it though.
@Xwing1064668 күн бұрын
Its not just the factory, it's the dealerships - and from my experience the Centurion/Supreme dealers are a far better experience than Malibu at the very least. Malibu rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with their "take a number" approach when COVID hit - Centurion seemed like they went out of their way to get customers into their platform during that time. Then you add in the maintenance costs and shop fees versus other vendors.

They are a publicly traded company. When corporate entities get involved with businesses that are hobbies and passions, its almost always a bad situation. All the other boat brands are private except for heyday which is a small segment of brunswick.

I realize you stated how “relatively close,” the fed fund rate is to actual interest rates, which is true. But given the fed dropped their rate to 0.05% in 2021 and as I write this the current rate is hovering at 4.33, that’s not saying a whole lot. I financed my boat for 5.99% in 2021 and there is no way I could get that now, without requesting it from the loaning institution (which people and dealers can do). Interest rates offered to consumers are much higher today, which has brought the new and used luxury boat market to a screeching halt. A one point drop in the fed fund rate would help tremendously.

Any insight as to why the manufacturers have such inflated MSRP? For example the MSRP on the NV 23 is like 230k. That number seemed really high and the sales guy let me know the realistic sale price is closer to 160-180k. Is it to give the illusion you are getting a good deal?
@dobsacamano8 күн бұрын
They do that to account for negative equity. Most boat owners are significantly under water. Pun intended.

Boardco released a video about a year ago explaining why it is happening across the board with all manufacturers. Basically one manufacturer started doing it and all others had to follow because people thought they were "getting a better deal" with more money off of MSRP. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnLYZmujh9CVmbc

I understand how you did this comparison. You did everything you could to make the setup "the same." All ballast full except for a bit more on the Port side which probably isn't the same amount of ballast in each boat. You also equated a "7" on the Nautique gate to "75%" on the Centurion. There's no way to know if those are the same or not. Again I understand what you were after. You were doing your best to level the playing field. Unfortunately, this resulted in a very unfortunate situation: You OVERWEIGHTED the Nautique. Yes. I own a 2022 G23 and I have hundreds of hours on it. I have tried dozens of different combinations of speed, gate and weight. It comes down to this: For wakesurfing, everything at 100% is too much. The water starts to flow over top of the gate and the wake suffers. Eventually, we settled on this: Belly 100%, Both Rear tanks 100%, Both Supplementals 50%. We usually refer to the supplements as the "mids" for brevity. On this particular boat, it has the power tower which adds even more weight to the middle. On these, we cut the mids down to 25%. Even less if there are a lot of people on the boat. For speed, we usually run at 11.7mph with the gate at 2 or so. This seems to be the sweet spot. A more fair comparison would be to tune each wake to be the best it can be for a given rider. That will almost for sure be different settings on each boat.

A G23 does NOT burn 22 gal/hour at surf. No. I own a 2022 G23 with the 6.2L NA engine. I live on a lake. We go out and surf steady for 3 hours and when I get back to the dock I do not fill it with 60 gallons of fuel. It’s less than 20. Usually around 18 gallons.
@BoardCo21 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Burning 22 gal / hour means running the engine non stop. Obviously when surfing there is get up and go, surf, turn around, changing riders, etc. You are not constantly running the engine hard. Both boats average less than the gal / hour rate in general unless run at a constant speed for multiple hours without a break.

I am the owner of a 2021 Centurion Ri257 boat in Dubai, UAE, and I wanted to share some concerns I've encountered with my boat over the past few years, in hopes that they can be addressed in future models. 1. Corrosion/Rust in Captain's Chair The captain's chair is made of steel rather than aluminum, which leads to significant corrosion due to the coastal weather and saltwater conditions in Dubai. Despite regular cleaning, I've had to replace the chair twice. I have now ordered a base from Nautique and am currently installing it instead. Switching to aluminum could resolve this issue and greatly improve customer satisfaction. Centurion could even offer this as an option for customers, although a complete transition to aluminum manufacturing would be far more beneficial for customers. This change would not be a costly adjustment for Centurion but would significantly reduce the burden on customers who face this issue repeatedly. 2. Engine Flush Location The location of the engine flush is awkwardly placed below the swim step, making it difficult to access. Most other boat manufacturers position the flush inside the boat for convenience. Relocating this would be a valuable improvement for customers. I personally made this change on my own boat, and it was a relatively simple adjustment. However, if Centurion were to incorporate this change during manufacturing, it would provide a far better experience for customers. 3. Engine Bay Sealing The engine bay is not properly sealed, allowing saltwater to enter and causing premature wear and tear. Better sealing and waterproofing would significantly improve the durability of the engine and help protect the engine components from corrosion. In my opinion, this is the single biggest issue with Centurion boats. This view is shared by the wake schools here in Dubai that have Centurion boats in their fleets. In fact, many wake school operators in Dubai have opted to add Nautique boats to their fleets because Nautique models have a properly sealed and protected engine bay. This issue is crucial not only for Dubai but for any coastal region where boats are used in saltwater conditions. I believe these adjustments could significantly enhance the durability and customer experience of Centurion boats, especially in coastal areas like Dubai or, more broadly, in any region where boats are used at sea. I have been on the fence about ordering a new 2025 model but am hesitant due to these ongoing issues. I genuinely prefer Centurion boats over Nautique in many aspects, including exterior design, interior design, seating arrangements and comfort, color selections and a much more premium vinyl quality. However, it is frustrating that such a beautiful boat with an MSRP of over $300,000 is hindered by basic issues like these. The rate of deterioration of the engine and the consistent breakdowns caused by saltwater exposure make owning a Centurion more of a hassle than a joy. These issues overshadow the boat's many strengths. I would appreciate knowing if Centurion has any plans to address these concerns in future models.

You do a really good job with the videos. What would really be cool is if you did this comparison with all of the makes, but had their people setting up their own waves so we can see an unbiased (not that you’re coming off that way) comparison of each. I feel as years go by, the gap is narrowing between many of the makes when it comes to surf waves out of the box.

The Fe23 freeboard is definitely MUCH taller than the old FX series - it fits more ballast and has substantially more storage and room. The 2018-2022 Fi series was deeper than the FX/FS and the new Fe series is about 3 inches taller than the older Fi.
