I am not afraid of being alone for the rest of my life. I'm scared shitless of turning to the dark side and becoming morally bereft jerk in the name of becoming more attractive to money-grubbing bimbos who constitute 90% of the modern day dating pool, who also want to use me as a temporary disposable meal ticket

People. keep in mind, this is a college lecture on analyzing human nature. Not a guide on how to fix yourself. Don’t treat yourself like a case study. Self reflection is good but only to a certain extent; don’t make a habit out of combing through your life looking for issues and mistakes (yours or your parents). If you start thinking too much that’s all you’re ever going to do.

Introvert here: I've always been prone to accommodating everyone in my surroundings. No idea if it was to be liked or being a good team player at work. I don't get angry often but give me the right elements and I can turn into a completely different person and yet have never heard a single negative thing about that side. How come?

NEVER allow them to repay your kindness with contempt. Not even once! Others will see it as weakness, and their abuse will get steadily worse. Don't take it one time!!!

What you want might have started off as what is “needed”They? have more of what I want. They? Made it look so easy, so much better looking from the where I stood. Failure before reaching a delusional goal, might be ok? Completion of a delusional goal, could lead to let down, ok. By the time you reach THE goal, internalizing has most definitely BEGUN change within in your personality. Shit!!! Move forward! Nothing new under the sun!

Couldn’t agree more! The 'nice guy' syndrome can really hold you back. I used to prioritize pleasing others over my own needs, and it led to frustration and resentment. It’s like trying to make everyone laugh but always ending up as the punchline! Joining the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x helped me recognize the importance of setting boundaries and being authentic. Remember, it's okay to assert yourself-real connections thrive on honesty and self-respect. Keep working on that balance!
