Bleed the rad a tad, before you unscrew the adaptor, or sludge will pour out over the floor. Yes, it’s a shit to clean up!

First attempt as above, carnage! Went everywhere. Second time, isolated the rad, screwed in the adaptor, then connect the can. If you open the rad first, you’re fighting additional pressure. Then open the valves, sucks the content into the rad like a bullet. Job done!

What a d head. If you take out the pin water will gush out. You need to isolate the radiator on both sides and then take water out by loosening the valve. Drains about 1.5 litres and then put in the x100 otherwise it will fly back onto your face before you can get the pin back in.

Is the vortex 300 or 500 a direct replacement using existing connections? The plastic thread on the quadra bleed valve is ruined so looking to address. Thanks
@sentinelperform
@sentinelperform 2 жыл бұрын
Whilst both are replacements in terms of filter, unfortunately they are not direct replacements in terms of dimensions. The Vortex500 is nearer to the previous Eliminator size, but some pipe work alteration will still be required. If you send an email to [email protected] so we have your details, we can provide the exact dimensions 👍

Question - given this fits to the pressurised return pipe, how come you can just take the magnetic core out? Confused - I was expecting to need to isolate and then unscrew it to remove the magnet. It's still crystal clear every time I remove it.

If the boiler has a built-in Circulator, would reversing the water flow from the machine damage it, or is it safe?
@sentinelperform
@sentinelperform 2 жыл бұрын
Flow reversal should not damage a circulator. When powerflushing, the boiler should be switched off anyway (so the pump will not be circulating). In our experience, we also see many installers isolating the boiler, so the flow does not go through the boiler too.

If I have the old sentinel Eliminator with the so-called quadra cyclone technology, could I just unscrew it and and replace with with this newer version which has a more powerful magnet leaving in place the isolation valves and doing no pipework. I asked this because although I managed to to fit the Eliminator I am no plumber. Is the new version that might fit no bigger than the old?

If you are flushing the system when installing a new boiler i think its beter not to go via new boiler becouse we don't want a sludge to circulate thrue it.Can we still do it?Shut all the valves to the boiler ? But then we won't be able to heat the boiler.What is the best practice when you installing or replacing the boiler to new?
@sentinelperform
@sentinelperform 3 жыл бұрын
Hello! 👋 Best practice is to clean and flush the system on the old boiler, if it still functions. If no circulation is available on the old boiler, a filter installed on the new boiler install (as recommended by BS7593) will ensure that any circulating can be captured on the return before entering the new boiler. Hope this helps! 👍

We had a power flush of the radiators 9 months ago, and recently the boiler plate heat exchanger has been cleared and hydraulic venturi on cold inlet replaced. Diverter valve seems OK. We still get intermittent hot/cold water at taps. Are these suitable products for clearing a possible clogged main / secondary heat exchanger. Any product advice, sequence of use etc welcome. Thanks.

Hello 👋 The best cleaner for removing clogged/settled build-up is Sentinel Deposit Remover - this is a powerful cleaner for getting rid of stubborn deposits, especially limescale. As the rest of the system has already been thoroughly cleaned, best to only clean the boiler itself. Use of an external pump is recommended, circulating the Deposit Remover around the boiler at 5% dosage will help with the issue 👍 www.sentinelprotects.com/uk/products/sentinel-deposit-remover

@sentinelperform 3 жыл бұрын
@@TelstarTAK the smallest supplied is 5L - this is due to the nature of the product, where a concentrated dose is best. Most plumbers merchants will be able to obtain the item. Probably easier to obtain within the larger merchants (Wolseley, Graham, Travis Perkins, City Plumbing Supplies etc) who are more likely to hold stocks of the 5L ready to be sold individually.

@sentinelperform 4 жыл бұрын
abdul hafiz hello! Depending on timeframe/type of clean, use X400 or X800 to clean (X800 acts faster, needs 1 hour minimum, X400 can be left in a system for 3-4 weeks). pH should be in line with manufacturer’s instructions and a pH either side of neutral would confirm the system is prone to accelerated corrosion - water can appear clean even when the system water is outside the neutral zone, however. Hope this helps!
