Silly question but are the sound/noises from the actual camera or external audio?

Hello, amazing work! Loved it! I got a question about color balance, being shot with tungsten balanced film did you or the lab do any post processing to correct color balance? Or os this straight out of the camera. I ask because I was considering 500t for shooting with natural light in highly wooded areas but worried about color balance(as using an in camera lens filter would negate the advantages of 500 EI). Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work. Cheers from Brazil.

Hi Thanks for sharing this too :) Please can you say which ones are 50D shots? This is an amazing work for a super8 film there,, better than many many 16mm filmed out there in terms of details and colors :)
@ssimplefilms3 ай бұрын
I’d have to go back through the original scans to confirm but I believe most of the beach and water shots may have been 50D but I think there were a few exceptions depending on if I wanted to shoot higher frame rates like the bees flying or waves lapping in credits, they are definitely 200t

This looks so beautiful! Did you use a gimbal or a beastgrip cage for handheld shots?
@ssimplefilms3 ай бұрын
Thank you greatly! This was all handled or on a tripod, aside from a tracking shot beneath a tree before the driving shots, for that I did use a gimbal but returned it afterwards as I’m not a huge fan of them, I really like hand held shots and it didn’t really fit in for what I was going for

Incredible! Stunning, is this a 16mm preset? if so, wich one? i want to try it!
@ssimplefilms3 ай бұрын
Thank you ! Actually I didn’t use any film emulations for this, aside from adding some grain to help with smoothing out any banding issues digital footage can have when compressed and streamed, I just did a basic grade as I work normally for 16mm film. I really like the log look the iPhone pushes out, it reminds me of the og black magic pocket camera

how da hale you record audio with the noise of the arri s motor??

When I shoot projects on the arri I always capture audio separately, if not weeks later once I have the footage in a timeline, then I do I load of recording and mixing for each shot.

Completely agree. The 'magic' about doing all of that lives as long as we do it to feel and shere something, not to compensate for expectations of tools.
@ssimplefilms4 ай бұрын
I think sometimes that unless you love it then why bother, because it’s probably already been done or filmed already by far more talented people. I think this stands true sometimes but I’m sure this is just the cynical voice in the back of my head hahah
