No coilovers. Yellow KONI shocks with Kerscher springs at the front an adjusted torsion bars at the rear.

It does not rub. I used already since 1992 the combination 7.5x16 and 9x16 with additional wheel spacers. At the rear the wheel arches had to be modified for it. I run the combination 7.5x17 and 9x17 (Mille Miglia Cup 1 Style) with the exact same offsets, adjusted with wheel spacers as well.

Hi, ich betreibe den Wagen mit rotem 07er Kennzeichen, da er mittlerweile nur noch selten bewegt wird. Verbaut ist eine Gruppe A Auspuffanlage aus Edelstahl von Friedrich Motorsport, welche eine EG-Betriebserlaubnis für das Fahrzeug hat. Grundsätzlich sind Abgasanlagen aus Edelstahl H-zulassungsfähig. Da Friedrich Motorsport unzählige Endrohrvarianten zur Auswahl stellt, sollte auch eine originale Optik erzielbar sein. Auf jeden Fall würde ich das aber im Vorfeld mit dem technischen Sachverständigen klären, da das Thema H-Zulassung zu großen Teilen im individuellen Ermessen des Prüfers liegt. Im Zweifel kann man dann ggf. auch argumentieren, dass es sich um zeitgenössisches Tuning handelt, da die Gruppe A im Tourenwagensport 1982 eingeführt wurde. Für die Abgasanlagen bedeutet die Klassifizierung Gruppe A = 63,5mm Rohrdurchmesser (serieller Rohrdurchmesser wäre = Gruppe N) und Absorptionsdämpfer statt Reflektionsdämpfer.

I’ve heard those rumors before. My other Transaxle is a Corvette C6 as you might have noticed. So in the Corvette scene over here in germany we usually call the „real“ Porsches flat Beetles... ;-)

You're welcome. In fact you simply couldn't buy the Porsche horn button directly from Momo at that time but you could buy the Ferrari horn button. In fact I didn't buy it because of the Ferrari brand but because it had a black prancing horse on a yellow background, just like the Porsche stickers had in their centre. But it was obviously the wrong thing of course... ;-)

For the original version I used the song "Art of Reboot" by U96. But I can't share that here on KZbin because of copyright. That song also has a rather melancholic character. But in the end it fits quite well for me as it helped me over some difficult phases of my life to keep myself busy with the vehicle. And in the end it's a matter of taste anyway. What would be your music suggestion?

@@Roguescienceguy Vivaldi or Beethoven are not really my cup of tea. Then I would rather go for Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", which would also be more contemporary. Both of your transaxles are great cars and I wish you great success with the planned restoration. I also have another transaxle sports car, but that one is a Corvette C6... ;-)

@@FJR924 mooimooi. Ik ben een beetje een purist. Ik houd van originaliteit al mag de radio en satnav gerust wel wat anders zijn. Als de originele maar ergens in de koffer ligt is het goed voor mij😜

@@Roguescienceguy In anyway there is no right or wrong. If you buy such a vehicle as a young person at the age of 18 and then keep it for 31 years, as I did, the approach is completely different. From a certain point on you will not see this vehicle as a financial asset but rather as an individual personal value. If you are looking for a classic car today, let's say at the age of 50, you will of course rather seek for originality.

Ich habe mir von Epytec Adapter in den benötigten Dimensionen anfertigen lassen. Somit kann ich bei Bedarf auch meinen 16 Zoll Radsatz weiterhin montieren. Die Serienbremse wurde mit Stahlflexleitungen, EBC Bremsscheiben und Red Stuff Belägen sowie ATE Racing Bremsflüssigkeit optimiert. Für das geringe Fahrzeuggewicht absolut ausreichend (mehr ist z.B. auch in der 924 BRSCC Rennserie in England nicht erlaubt). Bei den Felgen handelt es sich um 17 Zoll Mille Miglia Cup 1 Design in 7,5x17 und 9x17.

Sicher nicht. Das ganze Auto wiegt ja kaum mehr als so eine E-Auto Batterie.

Der Wagen wurde original ab Werk mit Ausstattungsoption M058 (Stoßfänger mit Pralldämpfern) ausgeliefert. Das kostete 1980 595,- DM Aufpreis. Hinten entspricht das dem US-Stoßfänger, vorne entspricht es von Form und Anbindung her zwar auch dem US-Stoßfänger, jedoch mit europäischer Beleuchtung (US-Ausführung hat nur Blinker und breite Prallhörner).
