That park is suuuper rough now. I used to go there every weekend when I was growing up (pre - Steel Lake era). This was before they started smoothing out the bottom of bank ramps, so everybody was used to the abrupt clicks lol. The granite ledge is actually a lot better now than it's ever been. It used to just be chunky concrete. For a while there was angle iron that someone glued on there. I'm not sure when the granite was installed, but that's the only reason to go there now. Plus it has some of the best lights for night skating in the area. The park was designed by a local pro named Scott Yamamura. I think he also designed Mercer Island and maybe a couple other older parks as well. Street oriented designs before plazas came along. Thanks for covering this park though! We used to call it Tyee skatepark (Tyee Highschool is next to it. . .but I think it's getting a remodel last time I drove past). It was definitely a special place for me early on.

Thanks for the info! I’m definitely there to review how the park skates, but have so much love for the people who made the skateparks and the history behind it. I appreciate when people add information about the parks on the videos, there’s not enough love shown, but KZbin comments are a great places to document more perspective about these parks by people who know more about them 👌🏼 So thanks a lot.

Jesus Christ is returning soon everyone! He died for our sins and was buried and then rose from the dead because He love us so much. Whoever believe in Him as Lord and Savior will be saved. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23

Friendly Grove is tight, fun to get warmed up at. It's great to just chill at too for a more lax session.
@MichaelDorgan22 күн бұрын
Agreed, this was an enjoyable session and I hope the good vibes carried through on this one. Definitely felt pretty lax and a lot of families walked by and chatted. Friendly Grove seems to be appropriately named!

Nice, i Ollied it about 10 times just for fun this day I filmed it, if it was a part then I definitely wouldn’t just put an Ollie on a 10 stair in it, I’ve been doing harder stuff than this for years 👍🏼

Setting up your camera in front of obstacles and in the middle of a busy skatepark yet other people are the snakes 😂
@MichaelDorganАй бұрын
Never put my camera in front of a single obstacle it was always in the grass. I know the etiquette and that everybody is watching so made sure to follow it 👌🏼 But thanks 👍🏼
@vertsk8erguyАй бұрын
@@MichaelDorgan I was there skating with yall the third day. It definitely got put in front of some obstacles. I’m not trying to say yall don’t follow skate etiquette but I’m sure if you weren’t filming yourself for the whole session you’d be a bit more conscientious.
@thezcrew86Ай бұрын
@@vertsk8erguy dude you are giving zero facts here and just shooting out baseless claims. Prove your claim or just get out. You literally have a KZbin channel doing the same thing. But seems like you are set in your mindset and nothing that gets said to you will change that so have a nice day dude. Try talking to people if you have an issue instead of making comments
@MichaelDorganАй бұрын
@@vertsk8erguy I respect other people have the right to question where I draw the line. There is a code that I believe is understood across street skaters, and I believe I followed it, and I believe the snakes I half-heartedly mentioned didn’t follow it and that’s why I mentioned it. Adults have a standard to uphold in the skatepark, and that’s what I try to contribute to. I appreciate your sentiment and will consider it going forward. If I did snake anybody then of course I’m sorry, and if you snaked me, I forgive you too 😉
