I have a question for Fiona. Without capitalism, how will anyone have a job? Where will food come from? I am solidly a materlist, and i understand that all of my perception/understanding is fed through the filters of culture, environment, and society. So i live in a subjective reality. The american pragmatist (hames, pierce , and dewey...) recognised this and proposed that when trying to know what's true, we must start by defining our values. We then shape our beliefs and actions around those values. Our value system is the basis of our subjective understanding of an objective matrrial world. Marx understood this, and this is why we fight for socialism. The very basis of reality is constant change, not permance or laws. We interact with change and have some responsibility in how it chsnges.
