Im not saying your way is wrong, but it is definitely not the best way. I would not put metal anywhere near the wheel. If you're wanting to go through the wheel, thats fine. But use something that wont damage the wheel like an axle strap... also your anchor points on the wheels are high. Pulling downward would cause the wheel to spin thus the strap would then be loose. Im sure your way works for short hauls, but i definitely wouldnt want to do it this way for a long haul. At least its a cheap car so itd be cheap if ya mess it up. 🤷♂️

@@LeeDennis-hi4bi false. If your worried you can get these lasso straps with out the cluster. This is a combo strap. You want to pull down as well. In this configuration there is no possible way the car could come off even if upside down

Good job GM. I hope they keep producing shittier plastic products. My 60s 70s and 1 80s trucks are pretty tight and right. However my 04 2500hd is the laughing stock of the junkyard. Im a diehard gm guy but damn those ratty bastards make it hard. Ill never own a newer chevy again. Ill stick to the old stuff. Or buy a tundra😂😂😂

I just got mine at first it would just turn over put not start then i held the button on that little box it turned red and then i held it again it turned green and my doors unlocked then i tried it again and it worked

You have created too much stress on the box section drawbar where the two chassis meet by too much weld with no gusset or some sort of bracing. That is subject to crack. Your rear pivot hinges have weld all around, which once again stresses the box section, and the hinges could crack out. When welding on to box section where its under greater loads you need to be creative on how you go about it. In most cases, you need to plate the box and then weld on the plate. I'm not sure if I explained that correctly? I'm only trying to help. Good video and all the best from an old Aussie.

What is the 2nd cable? Im blowing a fuse trying to figure it out. Not even chatgpt 4.0 has a definitive answer. The 2nd shifter linkage looking cable on the right that is being popped on and off. Every Shift cable lever I look up for my 01 chevy silverado 1500 ls 4wd, shows up with 1 little ball point, but mine and your's as shown, have 2. 1 on either side for both shifter linkage cables to connect to. the one of the right keeps popping out of place when I put the shifter into and out of park. at 9:00 you're putting both of them back on.

I have a 2 wheel drive. And I was wondering, will this work for my 2 wheel drive. I haven't torn it apart yet. But I already replace the seal. On the outside. That connects to the drive shaft. Someone told me that it might be this seal. This calls in it to leak. So that's my next step. Just figure out what action do you think they're the same?Just figure I would ask you. I was making a hitch for a car drilling in the frame and oil started squirting at me lol. I thought the sun heated up water or oil in the frame. Turned out to be the hydrolic bump stops if you get rear ended LMAO 🤣 i was really freaked out because it sqirted all over me and it was highly unexpected. Cool trailer btw never seen a 4x4 trailer LMAO

Shifter interlock solenoid is the other half on the system, when it goes bad it doesn’t let you shift into gear because it binds up. That’s the issue I’m having with my truck, I’m going to replace both parts

I always wondered what truck drivers do all day long, seems they drive around griping at all the other people on the road. But I agree there are a lot of crazy drivers out there and would guess that NJ has more than their share.

@@Moonshinedave1 not really griping till you put your foot on the brake and it does virtually nothing. Not only worry about hitting a car. I’m usually more concerned about the cargo and if it could kill me. The griping is also logical thinking, when merging is very simple, me having to stop and then take 20 seconds to get back up to 40mph times the amount of trucks in the traffic =/ is now the reason for traffic.

you can cut the oil drain bolt on the side of the engine that hits the front frame section and slide the whole thing away from your rear fender/frame about a half inch, just enough wiggle room. theres a 2nd oil drain bolt on the other side so you can still change the oil 😎

How did you just get the rear off? I have a bolt that broke when I did the wear ring install and now I have to get to the inside of it to replace the pump support

I been wicked paranoid about this problem but at 275k miles mine still don't leak. No idea if I've just been lucky or what. I don't think the case had the fix done beforehand because when I changed the fluid there was a ton of super fine metallic you could see in the oil. But the level stays full and the case still works. I'm swapping in a manual transmission with my rebuilt motor and wondering if I should reuse this case or just get something else

Considering I bought the truck at 190k that would line up. If the pump rub problem has been addressed, is it done for good or is gonna pop up again in another 200k miles.

@@autumnjeserich2689 if they used a factory replacement it will go bad. They are not aluminum they are magnesium. The replacements I get are aluminum replacements and they say that they are a life time fix.

Yeah it’s not completely burning all the diesel but still looks cool I had a N14 black top rated at 350 and I think max was 430 but took it to cummins and mech was able to bump it up to 500 I was concerned about the driveshaft but he told me it was fine because it was rated for 1850. One of the best engines I ever owned it’s a toss up between N14 and 60 series both good engines and parts are reasonable unlike cat parts you have a black you won’t spend all your money Jack you have a green your pockets won’t be lean you have a yellow you’ll be one broke a$$ fellow

Cat is now offering a limited number of new casting C15 blocks. 😎 Unfortunately, you MUST have a core. It doesn't necessarily have to be a C15, but there are a lot of stipulations. But if anyone is looking for a C15, this will probably be the only opportunity to build an entirely brand new one, instead of just a rebuilt.

Thanks for the video. Nice shop setup. Vermont sure is rough on trucks. I’m in Mass and my truck is pretty crusty as well. After needle scaling my frame for a similar repair I think I lost 100 pounds in rust. 😂

Small shop but I use what I got. I’m in northeast Pennsylvania, we get clobbered with salt. The tan truck was from Mass until 2017 and it was nicer than alot of the trucks here. The blue trucks bed was rotted at the top rails, barely a bed anymore. Probably shop vac a few hundred pounds of rust and dirt out of the frame and rockers.
