Does it throw a LOT of heat? What about carbon monoxide?

It generates enough heat to boil water. Since the fuel is methanol, the carbon monoxide levels are not a major concern. However, as with all heaters, proper ventilation is still expected.

To ignite it, use a long lighter designed for lighting candles and pull it directly to the wick.
