Maes Hughes is one of the few characters in Fullmetal Alchemist who didn't deserve to die like Nina or Greed.

Funny story, when I was first watching Full metal alchemist (2003), I had already heard of Brotherhood, but didn't know exactly what it was, my only guess was that it was a sequel (like Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, though I don't remember If I had seen either at that point), so when Hughes died, I didn't think much of it, I just assumed he was going to get revived at some point since I knew he was in Brotherhood. Yeah, that couldn't have been anymore wrong.

What hits me the most about Hughes' death was that his personality and overly goofy attitude reminds me of my dad. He even looks like him too. He's still alive but the fact that he looks like him and see him die just...I can't deal with it. Edit: FMA: Brotherhood is still the top tier anime I will always recommend to people getting into the world of Anime.
