Thanks for sharing your ride. I have been meaning to do that route for some time now. What are the road conditions like on the lane between the two lakes, looked like there was a lot of loose gravel.

A bit off topic, but compared to Scotland and even much of Northern England there's a lack of Heather on most of the hills, at least in Mid and South Wales. Not sure of the reason, overgrazing perhaps, pity really as the aesthetics and the wildlife would benefit a lot if there was some good sized areas of heather.

Great ride out. I have done this route by car and motor bike but some time ago. I feel encouraged to do it again on the bike . Well done and Thank you.

I did this today (9th May 2024) in the direction from Abergwesyn towards Tregaron. To be honest, I was left quite underwhelmed! There were some half decent views, but nothing special. Maybe I've been spoilt over the years, as I live in Wales, and have ridden everywhere in the country (over more than 40 years), so this route was a bit bland, compared to some views around Wales. Many others have said "Oooh, you have to watch those tight hairpins!" etc, but they must have been beginner riders! Anyone finding these "tight & steep" bends challenging, probably shouldn't be riding in the first place!
