the buescher tenor 400 made between 1963 - 1966 are probably one of the most UNDERRATED horns of all time...Just my humble opinion...played in a few horn bands and one of the tenor players brought his 1963 400 to a gig and I was sooo impressed by that horn. His go to horn was a mark IV but i thought that Buescher 400 was so much warmer
@haysfordays7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I wouldn't mind picking up one of those. This one is a bit later I believe. I had read someones opinion that the "magic" left when they switched sides with the bell keys. I can't attest to that, but I will say that this horn had a bit of magic. Very large sounding. Great for slow Gene Ammons style. Another "low-end" horn that is seldom mentioned that I have is a Martin Indiana. It's a later model in the line . It has a great sound for rock and blues. If you can find one to try let me know what you think . Thanks for your comment!

el sonido del Bundy 2 es impresionante, grueso, oscuro, impecable, es una saxo para jazz y blues, muy recomendado. Ademas es ligero y versátil, es el fender stratocaster de los saxofones.

Nice job, brutha. Rob's great of course, but the band is *so* on the money. Kyle's backing vocals are deadnuts on, the brass sounds studio, drums & bass tight as a tennis racket. Man, did I enjoy this iconic song. Cheers, mates!

I have an old Buescher alto and these horns sounds really nice and bright like yours! Do the pads need replacing or are they typical Bueschers that never need a pad change? LOL.
@haysfordays Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I think the brightness partially comes from my mouthpiece here, but it does seem to me that there's this mellow core with a bright top to it. Really interesting sound. These pads will eventually need replacing in the near future according to my tech. Some resonators are missing.

@haysfordays Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. I studied with Jim Riggs at North Texas. I was a jazz guy but appreciated the musicality of other styles. Ironically this is not my classical set-up here. But I try to get that sound when I do a demo so you can hear the horn in a more neutral tone. Thanks again.
