I thought a girl was presented 66 days after birth. If Mary was born on Sept. 8, her presentation should have been celebrated a few days ago.

Great question. I suspect the dates don't exactly line up because of the evolution of calendars (Julian vs Gregorian over the years). I'll ask around and get back to you.

Okay, here's what I found out: The oldest record of Mary's Presentation is the second-century "Protoevangelium of St. James." Mary was 3 years old at her Presentation, according to this account. So these traditions have varied and been disputed through the centuries.
