A kind of "out of context" request here, could you possibly review the Western Lines of Scotland DLC?

I like this train, because this train has a look like sound with a train here in São Paulo Brazil, boths are manufactured by CAF, they are called TUE 8500 like a AM in New Zealand.

I've just got TSW4 and looking at the dlc's they are VERY expensive. £30 for 1x dlc is ridiculous. I would buy all the dlc's if they cost about £10 or £15 each. Instead i am not going to buy any.

Great review; I’m happy to see unique locos like this in the games but yikes mate those textures. Looks like something straight off of your average Trainz loco. Very flat like you say with barely any detail. Just so plastic and toy looking.

You should check out Searchlight Simulations. They have, at least to me, the best North American locomotives available for TSC, despite the limited variety of locomotive types. There's also a GE AC44C6M and new EMD SD70ACe being made by Switch Point Simulations.

Personally I'd like to see the class 68s, preferably under TPE because of the Mk5 DVTs and coaches used with them and also the class 88s (they are basicly the electric version of the 68s). And a welsh route featuring the class 755s or 197s.
@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga
@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga 2 күн бұрын
755s are on Greater Anglia; TfW's units are the Class 756. In any case, I'd also like to see a Welsh route with a 197 in TSW, preferably Llandudno to Blaenau Ffestiniog. As for any TPE rolling stock in the game, that's quite unlikely because TPE is part of First Group and they don't want to do the licensing for Dovetail (at least, I think that's the case).
@adamwells9076

In case you didn't know, the class 456 recordings for the traction motors have been re-used in many other AP Packs, mainly the class 37 vol 1 & 2 packs and the class 50 on their traction motor sounds, I don't know why, maybe because they where similar in sound? Whatever the reason, it's there if you didn't already know it, just crank the motor factor up and you'll hear the 456 motor sounds.

SWT was obsessed with 10 car trains as the majority of their stations were built as 10-car stations. It's a throwback to the days of two 5-car units being coupled together. But with 4-car units, two means wasted platform capacity, but four means that two cars don't have platform access, which can be a problem during the busy peak period if people are crammed on and can't move through the train. Hence, the obsession with 10-car trains
@volvoolympianforever
@volvoolympianforever 2 күн бұрын
Southern never even had 5-car units. From LSWR days to modern times, the south has steadfastly used 3 or 4+2 car units. The only 5-car units I can think of are the 5-BELs

9:37 there were plans for NSE to extend most plattforms to 12 car lenghts , but due to limited funding it wasnt fully done and most plattforms went 10 car lenghts , and also due to the cost of capital investment , especially in infrastructure in a private system it was cheaper to just have 456 refurbished to form 10 car consists alongside 455s

@TheTrainspotterFromTauranga

I've never tried it myself, because the only trains that fit in the tunnels are the 1938 and 1972 stock. You could use 'off the rails' in the scenario planner to run a London Overground train north of Queens Park, as they do in real life.

Excellent review, I play this route every now and then and I really like it as even now there isn't that much for TSC on very busy and cluttered industrial rail areas like Doncaster Works. As you mentioned I do think the route also nails the grimy and run down feel of BR during the era of the route and the modernisation into the electric era and moving away from locos as a whole; focusing more on DMUs and EMUs. Also it's worth noting you can actually get the British Rail Class 03 for TSC in BR Green with the WSR Diesels Loco Add-On for the West Somerset Railway route on Steam. You can also actually still get a driveable British Rail Class 02 in BR Green and Blue as well! However, only if you somehow have access to Amazon UK... For some reason, the BR Class 02 and Granfield Branch Line Route (which was also discontinued from Steam) are bundled with a British Rail Class 111 Add-On code for TSC on Amazon UK. I am Aussie but managed to get my hands on it after a kind British bloke I knew from the TSC forums bought the installation code for me since there was practically no way I could get my hands on it otherwise. Overall though I genuinely would looovveeee some kind of high quality BR Diesel Shunter pack; at best I would love to see it cover Classes 01-14 which is quite an interesting, unique and underrated class range. (Aside from the Class 08, obviously an incredibly popular loco haha!) Or maybe simply a reworked British Rail Class 03 Pack at higher quality than the original versions which I would love to include a lot of liveries the Class 03s have worn both in service and in preservation. I would ESPECIALLY want a high quality British Rail Class 03 wearing the First Capital Connect livery that '03179' 'Clive' wore. I am a sucker for incredibly unique liveries like that, and other unique locomotives as a whole.

I had thought of mentioning the BR Green Class 03, but ended up forgetting about it. As for the Class 02 and Amazon UK situation, I have no access to the site myself, so I'll just have to deal with only having the Doncaster and Christmas versions of the 02.
