I lost my Mum earlier this year, our relationship was never healed properly and this song speaks volumes to me. I love the 'we're all good now' at the end, exactly how I feel, almost like the spiritual version of Mum is closer to me than the physical ever was. Miss you Mum. What a beautiful song.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you're able to find any measure of solace in the song in a time like this. In case you don't know, this song is a follow-up. When he sings "I won't play those songs anymore" he means Mum and Asbury (possibly others). This song alludes to them a lot, you can see his relationship with his mum evolving over the years. Mum feels fairly bitter, expressing how much her actions have hurt him. In Asbury he imagines having to let her go without mending the relationship. Mum II is about the much-overdue acceptance and finally being open to putting things back together. Also, Mum II was released on mother's day... I really hope it made Col's mum smile.

I love how the video demonstrates the “being left in the dark” by having everything happen around him and without him. Just the need as humans to wanting to be a part of something. I don’t know if that was the intended purpose or not, but listening to this song even just screamed that message for me. Anyway, with each new release, I’m just getting such a gut punch, nostalgic type feel with it. Guys, keep it up! Can’t wait until the album comes out!!

what? whAt? WHAT??? A grayscale release was not on my bingo card for thanksgiving week. Simple, elegant, clean production, fun melodies. I've always like the way Grayscale has approached softer and catchier tunes, and I think this speaks volumes towards their range as musicians. MV was also very interesting. Neat direction and clever use of straightforward film effects. It was classy without being too artsy fartsy or showy. Overall, solid release!
