This is the opening to the 2000 restored directors cut. The original 1973 version just opens with the title “A William Friedkin Film”. It doesn’t have the unnecessary shot of the house and street.

The Main Title opening to this awesome movie is one of the best and it gets better. I love the scene where Donald, Brooke, Jeff and Veronica are sleeping and the pods start to open and grow, how the special effects team pulled it off was brilliant. Robert Bridgend Wales

I remember using Microsoft paint to create collages using sprites from Pc video game “Yoda stories” in the icon/sprite pack, there was a red corvette, probably an homage to this film :D

It's unfortunate that this restored film is not displayed in better resolution. Such a post belies the entire purpose.

I saw this movie when I was about 19 years old, took a girl that I absolutely adored, good friends still. That movie was the best. The opening song still brings goosebumps today. One of the most honest films ever .

Besides the whole witnessing-the-delorean moment, Biff's excitement and wanting to share with Marty his new branded matchbooks was kind of adorable.

This film intro is the best ever, - the music, the motor sound, the plane, the camouflage the mountains, the letters - the drum - never made better...

“Coming Home” is hands down the best film exclusively dealing with the plight of Vietnam veterans after returning from duty. I have literally seen it 100 times (yes, I am a cinephile), and it never fails to move me.

I think Benjamin could've just as easily been a high school grad. I think both high school and college grads tend to be lost and aimless.

Extremely sad to hear of the passing away of Donald Sutherland today. The Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers, remains for me the greatest example, of his 'idiosyncratic genius'!! RIP Donald!!❤

I was only four when this movie came out, so I probably didn't see it until many years later, but by the time I did I was old enough to fall in love with Halley Mills. However, for the life of me I can't remember ever seeing this part.
