...they also function on a bike..."..." we have assed our risk tolerance.."....now you got to admit that sounds a bit weird... These jackets don't function on a motorbike. Function of motorcycle gear is to protect if they look fashionable it's a bonus not a goal...
@THESHOPVANCOUVERtvКүн бұрын
These motorcycle jackets function just fine and have for nearly 100 years. I don think its weird at all... This jacket will protect me to a level I'm happy with and also functions as a piece I also like to wear off the bike. If that's not enough for you, you are welcome to wear whatever you would like, flips flops or suit of steel. Its your life.

Others be warned. I ordered 2 helmets and received an odd text and email requesting pictures of my ID and credit card. They wanted photos even though I used the SHOP pay option. I've never had this request before and ordered from SHOP pay a lot of times in the past. Something seems sketchy. I can't imagine in this day and age with the scams happening, that a photo of an ID and credit card would be requested or even provided.

How's the shrinkage on these? I heard they shrink when washed but stretch back to size. Hypothetically, could the waist keep stretching if you put on some weight?
@THESHOPVANCOUVERtv24 күн бұрын
Sanforized denim has minimal shrinkage. If you put on weight then yes the waist will stretch if there is pressure on it and if you continue to wear them while you gain wait... obviously within a certain range.. if you go from a 30 to a 40 , its not going to keep fitting.

I was 6'4 248lb when I got mine last year it was a size 48 long version fit ok at the time due to my very large overweight gut. I have lost 40lb and now wish I got the 46 regular version. It is now WAY too big and bunches up at the waist when I ride my Triumph 2023 Bobber. yeah the long sleeve's go an inch past my wrist, but I don't care I wish I would have listened to his advice on the coat and not my own fashion thinking. You want the jacket tight if your going to ride with it to keep the wind out and short in length so it won't bunch up on you

I think its a psychology thing ..Every book I've read on the subject talks about how when you challenge people, even if it isn't something they fully believe in, they will dig their heels in.. this may challenge a position some people hold that gives them security and makes them feel safe on a motorcycle... so they will fight it tooth and nail to defend their view... so much to the point when I say " Im not against armour " they will continue with it all

@@THESHOPVANCOUVERtv This makes a lot of sense, I agree. It seems like there's similar debates about open-faced helmets, and even other stuff like hiking gear I have found. I’ll ask the same question to you as I ask others . Is a vintage truck still a truck ?
@karimsmai6298Ай бұрын
@@THESHOPVANCOUVERtv what does that have to do with anything? A motorcycle jacket is supposed to protect you when you fall with integrated protection. You’re putting people at risk convincing them it’s not needed. For what exactly? To look cool? There is a reason these jackets evolved. You’re just selling a fashion item.
@THESHOPVANCOUVERtv29 күн бұрын
@@karimsmai6298 Well my friend, I want to be clear. I'm not against anyone wearing protection. the rest of the insert video I go into what I think is a better and more protective option that most MC jackets we see on the market and for reason... I've sat in these type of meetings and understand whats goes into a lot of brands marketing to sell more products by offering a "solution" to what most motorcycle riders number 1 concern, and most times that is purely surface level and designed to give people a false sense of security.. Now .. These jackets are based off a vintage motorcycle jackets that have been made continuously for nearly 100 years, I ask if a vintage truck is still a truck .. because if we follow the logic of "its not as safe as whats come later" it seems they are not... no air bags or modern roll cages, no abs brakes or power steering, no computers... These motorcycle jackets do not have all the same features as the modern ones that have come after them. People will personally assess their risk tolerance and make the best decision that works for them. For some people, flip flops and tank tops do the trick and for others, nothing less than all the features for the most maximum safety protection known to man.. Myself and many others choose to fall somewhere in the middle. Ride safe g.
@karimsmai629829 күн бұрын
@@THESHOPVANCOUVERtvthat analogy doesn’t make any sense my friend. Those 1950s truck that you like to bring up so dearly had under 100 hp. You’re talking about riding with an unpaded jacket on modern motorcycles that to much faster, not even comparable… you can definitely find a better analogy. This one just doesn’t hold up.
@THESHOPVANCOUVERtv29 күн бұрын
@@karimsmai6298 I believe its still applicable . A 50s truck a and my 50s motorcycles still go the speed limit . If you want to move the goal posts and change the parameters to overall power and blasting at speeds over the limit .. be my guest. Major point is wear whatever you want to wear and whatever makes you feel comfortable and within your'e safety zone, I will do the same.

No pads, no backprotector = no motorcycle jacket. it's also worth noting that the likelihood of your exposed wrist making contact with the ground before, or even at the same time as, the rest of the jacket/ glove is very low. Shorter sleeve lengths make it possible to wear gauntlet gloves and prevent the rider from having to adjust an uncomfortable, long sleeve. Armour is huge though, that can't be understated. ripping across asphalt at high speed will turn leather is tissue paper, Its skin afterall.

Can you explain what causes that huge color change? I assume it's due to the UV radiation from the sun? And may I as a rookie ask you some questions? Is the smell of leather a normal thing, no matter what kind of garment you have? For example when you have your hands in your pockets, that afterwards, after only a short time, even your hands will have some of the smell on them? This is some kind of strange to me. At least, this is something, that you don't experience with normal, usual clothing, right? And what is it, that makes you loving leather clothing? Can you describe that? As someone from an outside view, I'd say that it looks cool and casual on you.
