I am new to Quicksurface and to get familiar I follow this tutorial and started from lesion 1 . I have following issues up to lesion 6. 1. your objects are orientated to xyz but the example files are not and you did not show how they are orientated. 2. whatˋ s to do that my planes and cylinders have also different colors as yours? 😂

Thanks for the video! 1. The history display in the Tree mode is incorrect. It should have been done like in SolidWorks: under each operation (for example, Extrusion) its own sketch, which is located on the next sublevel. But in your case, the entire tree is placed under the very last operation instead of doing this for each one. That is, the history in the form of a tree should look like this: Extrusion -> Sketch. Again in the first place, for example, Rotation -> Sketch. And so on. That is, each operation should have its own branch, and not the entire tree at once. Or in the normal history mode, move all the sketches to the right under each specific operation. 2. The size input fields lack mathematical operations, for example, enter 200 + 15, press Enter, and get the size 215. 3. Selecting a set of edges to create, for example, chamfers, is difficult. You can select a face, then all the edges on its boundaries will be selected. Or make a selection of edges similar to SolidWorks, by coincidence.

Thank you for all your comments. We will work hard to improve. If you have Solidworks - the better option is to use our addin - QUICKSURFACE for SOLIDWORKS where all your requirements will be nicely handled by the Solidworks itself

I think this might be exactly a functionality that I am potentially needing. However, this video is quite honestly very poorly made. The top of the page appears to be cut off so some of pull downs I will have to search for an guess, and it is done sooooo incredibly fast that even playing at 0.25 speed it is still much to fast requiring multiple replays.
@QUICKSURFACEАй бұрын
It was just to show quickly the capabilities, but you are right - needs a better video. If you contact us at: [email protected], we can make you a quick live demonstration with the software. We will publish the similar workflow again soon - slower and showing the steps.

@QUICKSURFACEАй бұрын
These tutorials are really basic listed on our Tutorials page for anyone who just started. We will do our best to publish more advanced separately. On your question - you can just extract the primitives which you need to define your coordinate system and then use align by coordinate system to transform the mesh

As more consumer entry level scanners are adding Quick surface Lite as a discounted option, it’d be very useful to know what the limits of this software are. And whether all of the operations you demonstrated are available in Quicksurface Lite.
@carscaАй бұрын
Great question
@QUICKSURFACEАй бұрын
QS Lite is designed for people to prepare and extract major features and complete the full job in their own CAD packages. QS Lite provides the tools which are missing in these CAD packages such as - mesh cleanup and polygon reduction, alignment, features extraction and cross sections, and complex free form shapes creation.
@mikecrane2782Ай бұрын
@@QUICKSURFACE Thank you. Are you planning on doing any Quicksurface Lite tutorials. It would be useful as interest in your software will probably increase. As I said before entry level consumer blue light laser scanners are getting more affordable, but your Quicksurface software is 3-4 times the cost of these new generation scanners. Quicksurface Lite on subscription looks like a cost effective solution for hobbyists, so a series of videos explaining how this software package can be used would drive sales, as would a “hobbyist” or “Maker” type licensing package.

Great software. My favorite reverse software. This command in particular is very handy. The other commands for creating surfaces are also great. I'd like to see the ability to replace surfaces. Or something non-parametric. The modeling step can be a hindrance to reverse. Forward design may require parameterization and a history step. It would be nice to introduce the idea of non-parametric design in reverse design.

I think this tutorial is better than the others because you used a real 3D scan with errors, great work. I wish there was a non-commercial license that is affordable for private users, 3D scanners and 3D printers are becoming more and more popular in private households. In any case, respect for the software, it is really brilliant 👍
