2007 Black GXL 120 V6 auto trans owner here. Before this one i had a 2004 white GXL V6 manual trans, so i have driven V6 Prado's for 10yrs now and covered over 600,000kms when combining length of time i have owned and driven both. My 07 black Prado is highly modified and upgraded in every aspect and now it is a sinister weapon and looks far better than a 150 Prado Exterior mods - upgraded headlights to black twin binnacle projector LED's high & low beam plus LED daylights / upgraded rear tail-lights to more modern LED design / upgraded factory bullbar indicators to multifunction LED's / addition of Big Red high power LED spotlights for remote night driving / upgraded rear buumper reflectors to multi-function LED's (park-brake-indicators) / smoked wind defectors to all side doors upper glass area / Upgraded factory hood grille to aftermarket black sports grille (still has the Toyota centre Logo but in black) Interior mods- upgraded head-unit to modern Kenwood touch screen multifunction unit with hands free & bluetooth / upgraded speakers/ all interior lighting upgraded to LED's many other minor mods too numerous to list. (the instrument cluster is also soon to be upgraded to blue LED's to the circuit board / the factory steering wheel is soon to also be upgraded to match the new landcruiser 300 series look with steering wheel controls for head-unit and cruise control function) / Rear cargo area - eco-light twin slide-out drawers and drop down table to rear cargo door / gas strut to rear cargo door. Engine mods - shorties extractors replacing factory cast iron log headers for more efficient cylinder exhaust scavenging + upgraded exhaust to bigger bore S/steel piping and S/Steel sports muffler replacing factory muffler + twin chrome rear tips to finish off the look. Result is increased torque & power & response to to accelerator pedal movement. Engine bay mods - RedArk BCDC dual battery system + REDArk tow system for towing a trailer or caravan etc / Heavy duty Reece rear hitch with adjustable height setting Suspension mods - upgraded springs to HD Kingsprings + upgraded front struts to big bore Bilstein struts + Bilstein rear shocks Driveline mods - twin locked with Harrop Electronic diff lockers front & rear diff Wheels - upgraded to black Dymanic HD (1,400kg rating per wheel) D-slot dish steel rims 17 x 8" front & rear with Bridgstone Dueler 697 AT's Fuel capacity - 2 x 90 litre tanks from factory This 4wd is maintained to a high standard and looks like it is brand new including the undercarraige as well as the exterior paint & interior cabin and with the upgrades i personally believe it has brought the 120 Prado (mine is now 17yrs old) into modern day times without the price of a new Prado and in my personal opinion it actually looks better

120 owner shifting to 150 i have driven 120 in khunjerab the highest most difficult region in the world and no sweat keeps climbing btw i use the 2.7 2tr done alot of offroading to tell you i have never had any issues only the gear overheating sometimes an impressive machine

i've never understand for what toyota has made "lux" versions of prado. in the original this car always been a personalisation of men nature. Drivebility, reliability, simple construction, easy fix.

Don't believe what the comment section says. They only drove 120 and they are cheap. I had both. 150 is better in every way. It has KDSS system, better chassis(for on-road, and etc.), overall better dynamics, better interior, etc. I also love the 1st facelift 150 design with cheetah eyes, etc. Oh and they have better and more fuel efficient 6 speed transmission. And also dual vvti. Never mind, too many improvements of 150 over 120 to write in 1 comment :D

They made the new forester so much bigger it's not even the same class of car anymore so the comparison isn't super fair. The old forester is closer to the new XV when you look at size, weight, etc.

Ive had the 05 one and my daily drive since 05 1million km would nit replace it for any range rover. My first car 1997 vitz drives like new 500,000 miles serviced every 4 months both cars regaurdless of miles past 15 years. Ill never sell orreplace these to car too much love. Got rid of 2 range rovers at the same time owning the prado range rovers are rubbish

I have a SUBIE XV - but I have seen much better Fourwheel traction results of the Mazda CX-30. Maybe you don´t have activated the offroad button. That makes a big difference!!!

Before I even watch the video I will say the XV, simply because it sounds better with the boxer engine.
