I'm sitting in a plant that processes taconite right now. Underground and at least 10 below zero F, this video seems relatable.

These sounds totally befitting DUNE if Johann was still alive.

I can see why Denis and Johann came to agree this wouldn't work for BR2049. This OST births its own fresh identity. It emancipates a completely new and unique charm. Denis and Hans approached it differently. They found the appropriate threshold to create a film with it's own personality but still be bound by it's predecessor.

I will never listen to this man's music in front of anyone, because of how it always makes me sob uncontrollably, even after the song is well over.

I very much like JJ's work - even saw him live in Brooklyn a few years back. But this wouldn't fly for the BR sequel. I think in one way it brings too much attention to itself and in another, it's fairly uninteresting. Zimmer may have his faults, but when you listen to his, and how he was able to craft new music while also paying homage to Vangelis, you can see why Villeneuve went with him.

I was at the world premiere of Drone Mass at NYC by the Temple of Dendur at the Met, at that section of the Met there are huge windows and during the middle of the concert the sun started to set and it was such an unreal experience. One of the most memorable concerts I’ve been to.

His music alone puts me into this otherworldly state. Like you're watching the last sun set on a city singing as the world ends.
