@@3TXSisters hi my friend. I finally cooled down a little bit after today. I cried, I prayed and I said words that came out of my mouth for the first time in over 10 years. I don't know if you're aware of this about me but I served my country honorably for 10 years. I was decorated numerous times for my conduct. What I saw today was not a reflection of the America that I served. When I wasn't crying I was simply having an out of body experience to where I was yelling every single expletive that I knew which is quite a few. I was not proud of myself but I never in my wildest dreams thought that in the space of my lifetime I would see insurrection and an attempted coup of the country that I actually love. I hope that you can understand what I'm trying to say and I thank the Lord God that I have people like you and money mom as friends ♥️♥️♥️

@@nonamegame9857 Doug, I don't understand what is going on with people today. One group wants to burn down the country and another wants to interrupt the election process. Neither one is right and there are good people on both sides appalled by their actions. I don't watch the news but my husband told me what was going on. I can't let myself get upset right now. I can pray for sanity to take hold and take us all to a safe place. Hope you can get some sleep tonight. I have to leave at dawn tomorrow for a doctor's appointment, yuck. Take care, Linda 🙏🌄☀️🌅

Love your video. I experienced the Dawes Glacier in May 2008. The landscape was covered in snow and it was the most spiritual view in the world. Totally inspiring. Nature is indeed a wonder. Thank you for sharing

I worked at Little Bob's restaurant there back in 1982. They always made multiple trays of their big cinnamon rolls that covered an entire plate. I think it's no longer there...and I think '82 was the first year the Grand Hotel charged a cover for anyone to walk on the veranda. Haven't been back since '87

so my question is, when they say they serve "demitasse" after dinner in the parlor, does that basically mean coffee in short cups? is there any food served with it like little cakes or cookies? do waiters actually "serve" the coffee to you or is it set up on a table? I'm just wondering why they use the term "demitasse" instead of saying after dinner coffee is served in the parlor. just curious =)

That was wonderful! I have love "Somewhere in Time" since I was a little girl. There is something about the music that is haunting. So much so that I made it a part of my wedding. The music that you have on your video is exactly what I walked down the isle to.. so thank you for sharing. It is truly a magical place and those that have experienced it will agree. If you haven't been there... make it a point to at least visit. It will be a trip you will never forget! :)

Went to the island years ago and liked it very much, didn't stay at the Grand Hotel but we went up to it just to look around the lobby area and the beautiful grounds. The hotel has the longest porch in the world, I read that years ago in the old newspaper feature "Ripley's believe it or not".

My dad worked at the Inn when he was 16 yrs. old. His health deteriorated and we couldn't get him back up there. He would have been 92 last week. He always talked about how much he loved it there. Thank you.

I love this video. I used to work at the GrandHotel in The kitichen storeroom. I'd give my eyeteeth if I could have worked there for many years to come. I've always wanted my ashes to be burried under the dishroom in the kitichen. That's how much I love it!!
