@3:09 from the output of the lfo to the output (the right) of the diode...?! @8:10 ... I'm lost now... Basically it is changing the 16th note in such a way that when it's high, it is 'adding' the lfo to it. 🤔 @15:05 what? Again, changing the behaviour of an output (noise), by connecting it to an output (capacitor)?
@badadorАй бұрын
yea man give them a try yourself and hear the results. for the Diode I can't explain why it's happening like that cause I don't have much knowledge about electronics but for the Capacitor, based on what I know, is essentially similar to this term (you can look it up) "Decoupling Power Supply Noise"

Very cool, I don't own a pulsar but long been searching for someone using external components with it, (eg capacitors) for filtering, I wonder how and if it would be possible to introduce more resonance to a single capacitor ? Like for creating a resonant peak ? Keep making those in depths ! Cheers

Great video demonstration. It’s really helpful to see the scope. I'm surprised you can plug in the direct outputs of the pulsar into your soundcard? is that just done through the line in jack on the computer soundcard? is there any concern about frying the soundcard with voltage? would love more instruction on how to do that, monitoring the pulsar with a scope is really really helpful I would like to try it.
@badador4 ай бұрын
@@bradon2318 Thanks 😊. So my soundcard is ES-8 by Expert Sleepers which has DC coupled ins/outs and this allows you to pass CVs and gates thru it.let me know if you need me to explain more
@bradon23184 ай бұрын
@@badador ah ok so it has to be a special sound card then. I'm not sure how to know if a line-in input is DC coupled or not on general soundcards? I have one that is built into the mother board but I also have a M-Audio FW external that has line inputs... but i don't know if any of them are DC coupled or not.
@badador4 ай бұрын
@@bradon2318 the ES-8 is a sound card in eurorack format. most of the desktop sound cards don't have DC coupled Ins but the outputs could be, you have to check on their websites(I don't think your have dc outs)
@bradon23184 ай бұрын
@@badador Thanks for that info... I kind of assumed most built in sound cards wouldn't work. The ES-8 looks great. I just don't have a eurorack case and was kind of avoiding it having to get whole eurorack setup. But If i need to go Eurorack I may just get that mordax data which is a hardware scope that would maybe do the same thing? The scope is absolutely critical for understanding how the pulses are being shaped its kind of a necessary in my opinion.
@badador4 ай бұрын
@@bradon2318 no worries, glad I could help. yes I totally agree, a scope is definitely needed to better understand things

Super helpful for me as a brand new pulsar owner. If you were still imnspired to make videos on this topic and could discuss how to use the GND pin when using the machine stand alone I would appreciate it so much. I see patches of people using GND in patches and never have a clue what the purpose is. Thanks again.. Great work

Thanks a lot.Can you briefly tell me what you mean by 16th triggers from the PNW. In my case here i cant clock the shaos with one the different clockouts of PNW PPEXP1 or an square pulse with a very short width.Cant clock the shaos with pam at all.But it works perfect with the right hand tigger out of maths ! Its a higher voltage shows me my DATA or VCR.
@badador8 ай бұрын
sorry for the confusion, I meant 16th notes triggers, which is, if you assign one of the PNW's channels to Square and the speed at X4. what you said is correct, you can't clock the SHOAS because the PNW voltage output is 5volts and SHAOS needs 10 volts. so to make it work you can use your Maths. patch the output of a PNW channel that you want to clock the SHAOS with to channel 1 of Maths (the left side). make sure to put the Rise knob all the to the left and then use the EOR (end of rise) output of Maths to clock the the SHAOS. an alternative is to clock Pulsar with PNW (PNW is the master clock). with this one you don't need to use Maths. just assign a channel of PNW to the speed at X8 and SQR. patch it to the clock in of Pulsar(the clock in of Pulsar doesn't need 10 volts to work it works just fine with 5 volts), from here you can clock the SHAOS with one of Pulsar's clock dividers. just make sure to put the "INT MIDI" switch in the center which is the external mode. let me know if have any other questions

Hi! You should check Adamski A (The Advanc3d) videos about his DIY tinkering. This man explains some things in a pretty casual way but he gives some schematics also! You'll get better about all these components and get more ideas for Pulsar. If Pulsar has +-12v supply for users then it will be handy as well! If not then you can use your modulars' PSUs. I think it's not a crime to borrow some power from your "boxes" :)
