Usually you will get most things at Indian grocery stores, though choice is quite limited. You can buy some warm clothes but better to buy proper winter jackets and shoes here. Opening bank accounts takes a lot of time as you first need to get a Swedish Id which takes time, so forex card with expenses for couple of months is important.

Sweden has a job seeker visa that you could apply for but the success rate for it is very low. You can apply to the different universities and if they are ready to sponsor your visa that would be an option. Unfortunately there is no guaranteed & direct path to move to Sweden 🇸🇪

Sorry to hear about your accident but really appreciate your determination. Sweden is a great place to live as everything is done with accessibility in mind. Every government facility including public transport (tilting buses with ramp) is designed to be accessible. I m sure there would be opportunities for you but in general getting jobs in Sweden are not easy. But once you secure admission to a college or university, you can reach out to them and they may be able help you with it. Something to keep in mind Sweden 🇸🇪 education for non locals is quite expensive. I believe there are some universities in Norway 🇳🇴 and Germany 🇩🇪 that offer free tuition, so you could consider them as well, as a cheaper alternative.

Stockholm rental market is a big topic of discussion. It’s almost impossible to get a first hand contract due to rent control laws. Buy an apartment is also a special case as you never own the apartment but you own shares in housing society and right to live in the apartment. So we have made a decision to own a row house along with the ownership rights of the land it is built on to have full control and ownership rights.

You can make a risk assessment based on what’s your job contract, if you have already got one and who is the primary applicant for the visa. For masters students who have no prior experience or fluency in Swedish language, it is difficult & takes time to get the first break. Given that you have limited time to find one, student being the primary applicant can make things difficult.

I guess the people leaving are on both sides of the aisle. It’s more to do with current difficulties in Sweden 🇸🇪 rather than any political ideology.

Only posts needing highly skilled people and top skilled scientists and posts not possible to fill from inside the county in the near future should be open for people coming in and immigration should be controlled based on that. Open borders sounds good..but in todays world, totally absurd.

I can’t answer that but if you’re going to apply for work permit the minimum salary has to be above the median salary of 33200 SEK but hopefully 🤞 it will be much higher than that good luck 👍

Nice to hear that you’re enjoying learning Swedish language 🙂. As a fresher from India 🇮🇳 there is unfortunately no way to get a job offer in Sweden or any of the Nordic countries. But with experience, you can apply for the proposed job seeker visa and start applying via. LinkedIn or indeed or sometimes Arbetsforörmedling.

Sometimes people are just uncomfortable with having people around them who are not like them. Some of these people can on rare occasions react negatively towards others or try to avoid them completely. Or they have had one off bad experience with someone which they may generalize to others or lastly they may have been consuming some propaganda. But what I can assure you, you will rarely ever face any direct racism. Swedes in general avoid conflict or confrontation with very few exceptions.
