Consider how the top art auction houses such as Sotheby's, Christie's, Phillips, Bonhams, and Heritage Auctions communicate with potential art buyers. Observe how they market artists and art collections to get an understanding of how to tell stories about art and combine it with your personality. Always maintain your authenticity and communication style while sharing your knowledge about art to connect with other art appreciators and collectors. Remember to share to assist and educate, rather than to manipulate, to build long-lasting relationships in the art world. You've got this!

This was back in 2019, so I'm not sure how much the process has changed. Focus on telling a story. After all, the story behind the art and the artist resonates with people when they want to purchase artwork. You got it!

HI Laura! Simple explanation is "Discipline equals freedom". Also, it is very important in the tech industry to avoid burnout (acloudguru.com/blog/engineering/tech-it-worker-burnout) by setting boundaries for yourself when you need to go offline and be away from a screen and also engage with the physical world. Lastly, since this program is all remote if you a nice mobile setup you can make it work quite easily😎

@xanderclemens Жыл бұрын
Apply and go to the inperson Training in Miami and rock it! Tell people there that you want to be an auctioneer and demonstrate your value with luxury goods and you can become an Auctioneer within one contract. My roommate did after working one cruise contract.

@xanderclemens Жыл бұрын
Hi Artist! I was working for Park West back in 2019 so the pay and process to apply I'm sure is a little different. That being said entry position is as an art associate and you can move up quickly to gallery director or art auctioneer within 1-2 contracts if your very good. Not sure of the process to apply but you will have to go for training in person in Miami and need to pass tests in person. The salary can be good since you don't have expenses when working on a cruiseship. Let me know if I can assist further!

Seems like you're near the intermediate stage if you've taken 5 courses and been studying everyday since november? How come you didn't opt for the 12 week program?
@xanderclemens Жыл бұрын
Hi BennduR! Yes, I was initially planning to do the 12-week program that is only JS. Still, since talking with Alumni of Hack Reactor that did the 12-week course 1-2 years ago, they mentioned to me that they would have selected the 19-week course because you learn and cover Python and JavaScript and the buildout of these languages on different frameworks (Django and React). I’ve chatted with 4 Alumni that said they would have done the 19 weeks if they had the chance because you are adding more tools to your tool belt. That being said, focusing just on JS is excellent because you bronce a master at that, and the opportunity for JS work is abundant. I’ve been told that HR plans to adjust the curriculum to use a different framework for Python instead of Django because it is too automated. This was explained to me in a conversation, so I can’t know for a certainty. Also, I have to be mindful of my relationships with the people important in my life right now, and the 12-week program is an even extraordinary time commitment during the week. The 19-week course allowed me to manage still and have healthy relationships with my loved ones, especially with every 2nd Friday off and not having to be plugged in on the weekends.
@BennduR Жыл бұрын
@@xanderclemens Incredible reply! thank you so much for taking the time to write this and sharing your insight! Very valuable. Those are all excellent reasons to consider the 19 week over the 12 week. Personally I've been accepted but was having reservations however since the 19 week is a newer "untested" program and seems to be getting some flack on /r/codingbootcamp from some disgruntled students. The coinciding timing of the 19 week program release with the Galvanize acquisition of HR and decision to stop reporting to CIRR also made me feel a bit wary that it could be cash-grabby, but this puts my mind at ease. Do you know if those 4 alumni you spoke to had reviewed the 19 week program at all, or were just basing their advice off their experience with the 12 week program? Here's a software engineer @ google reviewing the program; he seemed kind of underwhelmed to be honest. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIiaqaedi86Il5I Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts, and best of luck with the program! Looking forward to your success.
@xanderclemens Жыл бұрын
@@BennduR My pleasure on the reply! Thank you for your questions and comments. I can imagine the program having hiccups and disgruntled students since it is a young program, and roughly every month, over 180 new students start the course, if I'm not mistaken, the 19-week course. So Galvinze does quite well financially. And you are about to consider that HR/Galvanize stopped reporting to the CIRR. Yes, I know and have heard over 10 Alumni speak on the program. I'd be happy to provide you with the google meetup link for a weekly call I attend with Jason Wesson, a former Hack Reactor alumni I have been following since Nov 22. I have gotten lots of value from these calls as you meet other current students in the program, alums and prospectus students, and uninflated students. The best part is it isn't affiliated with Hack Reactor. It is on Jason Wesson time. Here is his LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/jason-wesson/). I had a quick skim through the video from Jake Marquez. A lot of time must be dedicated to data structure and algorithms. Thanks for sharing, and I agree with his final point about students needing to learn vital core concepts and not being fed material to make the course 19 weeks long. I'll DM the link, and please let me know if you have any more questions happy to serve💪🏻
