About to set mine up for the first time! Hope it's as nice as this video makes it look! The extra large vestibule seems like such a useful feature.

What I don’t get us this. There are two mesh ventilation panels at the top of the hide. The rain fly goes over the top of the hide. With the rain fly in place,one can still see through the roof mesh panels, right? So on a cold winter day, what can be done to prevent the cold wind from entering the hide through the mesh panels. Seems as if it could get quite cold inside the hide if the wind were from the wrong direction.

Tragopan have to be one of the leading photography hide manufacturers around at the moment. Pin holes in the fabric!!!!!!… sounds like nothing Tragopan would send out as something like that would show up in their quality control process which is really quite thorough, but keep trying to get hold of them because if they feel it’s down to them, they will replace it.

Awesome video! I just bought the Tragonpan Monal v2 and that actually led me to you videos! Cool stuff. I would maybe recommend using a lavalier mic in the future for your videos so we can hear you a little better "for the quiet parts typically" and those pick up sound pretty well to where you can stay quiet when needed as well "to not scare nearby wildlife" Overall very inspiring work my friend!

@@anthonymaglio6488 Yes I was thinking the very same, I enjoy touring on motorcycle as well as bicycle so a smaller BA for my touring bike and this Motel style for the Suzuki....at first I thought your ground sheet might have been too large because if it rains, water can seep underneath your tent and get trapped there. Good video.....I'm really considering Big Agnes next Spring in Australia.

Awesome stuff and nice images - especially liked the backlit turkeys. Looks like you got a nice location there and the wee man didn't get too bored with being in the blind all that time either! Our daughter is just coming up to a year old and I'm really looking forward to when she'll be able to come along on wildlife photo trips - I see from this that a blind is probably a good way to go since it gives a nice defined space as well as keeping out of sight of the wildlife... Also just became your 300th sub :D
@anthonymaglio64883 жыл бұрын
Geoff thank you so much and you are going to have so much fun. And yes if you want to make your life a littler easier look into a child carrier. I use an osprey poco AG plus it has been a massive life saver to help move around the woods or even going to the store with the little ones. And for the blind it’s a good intro to camping and it’s super fun for them. Just make sure your bring some snacks 😂
@GeoffCooper3 жыл бұрын
@@anthonymaglio6488 Thanks for the advice - we've already got a carrier (in fact it is an Osprey Poco AG) and we've been camping a few times with her already too, but I think she'll need to be a bit older for photo trips just because currently she'd not be happy stuck in a hide that long... and certainly not quiet, though snacks are very helpful for that ;)

Drop a comment guys if you know the exact species of Hawk I found!!
@alangeorgebarstow3 жыл бұрын
I've had a good look through the National Geographic Society's 'Field Guide to the Birds of North America' and the only bird pictured within that guide that closely resembles your bird (at 4:57) is the 'Gray Hawk' (Buteo nitidus). The colourings, rounded wing tips, and general shape all favour this bird over the Broad-winged Hawk (B. platypterus), which is darker, and has a more buffish overall colouration and more pointed primary tips. I appreciate that Gray Hawk is an accidental species most often seen in the South-western states (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas), but it is the only hawk in the book that is identical in shape, size and colour to your hawk. Hope this helps.
