Newly enrolled student….i have purchased so much stuff over the past few years for my diy nails. Cheap acrylic powders and all. Just started trying other brands however Yesterday I purchased my first collection of cover powders from MakarttPro along with a 100% kolinsky brush #8, monomer and brush cleaner. Can’t wait to receive it! I watch your videos while I’m practicing at home. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge with us. You’re such an inspiration to me from the bottom of my heart!

@sarag115821 күн бұрын
It's a steep learning curve. I learned real quick with the e-file. The hardest part for me is the balance/shaping. My first couple sets were very thick because I was using the brush from the nail polish bottle. lesson learned. I think this set might be too thin as it's not very tough. The layer after layer after layer thing, kind of dumb. file it down until you see the last white layer of gel. Then use acetone. Or just put a colored layer of gel over that last very thin layer on your nails.

I don’t know I went to a nail tech school and I still can’t justify these prices, but I also decided I don’t like dealing with customers so I only do nails on myself and family . Me personally that’s why I decided to learn how to do my nails because I can’t justify paying that kind of price for temporary art. I have done it multiple times even higher and realize this doesn’t make sense as a customer now as a nail tech, if people are willing to pay for that, let them pay for it. They have the option not to go to that salon. I like to collect books vinyl toys, and I’m pretty sure somebody would tell me there is no need for that either so I’m just going to say to each their own like I said it’s all choices.
@makarttpro23 күн бұрын
Yes and it's all choices, but if someone is looking for a luxury service, it comes with luxury pricing. I'm glad to hear that you went to nail school! If anyone has discouraged you from charging your worth, I want to encourage you to re-explore it. Doing nails for a living is an incredible and very profitable business if done right. I really had to shift my mindset and focus on marketing my services to the clients that I want, but once I raised my prices, my clientele changed and I'm so happy that I did because it really helps to weed out the people that don't make sense for an independent service provider.
@Tasnailz23 күн бұрын
@ okay that’s definitely food for thought . Maybe that was my problem and I should look into that.

Good lord I’m grateful for the costs of acrylics here in southwest Ky! It’s about $45 now for a simple French acrylic set and no one around here does gel x or polygel sadly which is WHY I’ve been learning to go geo x and polygel around here ❤
@makarttpro23 күн бұрын
$45 is usually a standard pricing for public salons. If you haven't tried going to an independent nail tech before and you want that luxury experience, I highly recommend to give it a try. From the atmosphere, the work, to the products, everything is on a different level!

*Wait, what do you mean "Makartt's scented monomer is basically just scented monomer"? 😅 You never specified **_how_** it is scented differently than the oil containing monomer scent drops. As far as I'm aware, the only way you can give a liquid a certain scent is to add fragrance oils to it, so unless Makartt has discovered a brand new way to create scents without their corresponding fragrance oils, that's exactly what they're using as well.*
