Very informative and interesting!!! I appreciate the history behind these pieces. I have a pair of earrings, I cant verify on the website you mentioned, but i also don't know how to describe the shapes and whatnot. Just curious if you have the time, would you be interested in looking at them?

Ha! Turns out I have 2 duo pieces! Both rhinestone (or glass?), both deco-ish I’ve had them for years and had no clue why they were designed to come apart…In truth, I didn’t discover that feature until 2 years ago! Thank you, once again.

Brava! Excellent video, for so many reasons-the main one, as is always the case with you, is content. In particular the information you curate and impart…a tall order to meet. So, Ciner: Completely new to me-I’m a relative newcomer to fine costume jewelry (aka: Pandora’s Box). The history and craftsmanship of their work, really resonates with me. No matter the quality, I’m a sucker for enamel work of any kind. But that enamel work took my breath away. Truly exquisite.

Thank you so much for doing this presentation on Christian Dior how beautiful are these pieces. I am sure I can speak for anyone who has watched these videos how informative they are. I was so excited to hear you were doing another one. Please keep up the good work. I am obsessed with Costume Jewellery. I managed to find a beautiful piece of Christian Dior in an op shop this year........ for $5, let's just say it made my day almost went running from the shop....

Wonderful informative video, as always thank you😊. I'm actually lucky enough to own a couple of Mitchel Maer pieces, (demi parures consisting of clip on earrings and matching brooches) one set is marked Dior the other 'just' Mitchel Maer. The stones and elements are so similar you can mix and match between the two sets. They are amongst my most treasured pieces 😊

Excellent. I just started watching your videos. To find a straightforward expert is rare. I LOVE that you wear many pieces from your collection…and I’m with you on the Grossé pieces (im a sucker for beautiful weaves and “impossible” angles). You have exquisite taste! Thank you so much.

I have an 80"s chain necklace with red green or red and blue gripoix glass stations, it has C D (C on one side, D on the other side) of an unusual top down fold over clasp rather than the usual side to side fold over closure, It has no chr dior., hang tag, etc. But it is an obvious C & D. Have you seen this signature by Dior with only the initials before? Thank you for your help!
@chapelhillvintagejewels2 ай бұрын
Why do you call the glass gripoix? Your chain could have had a tag that was taken off. I covered the marks and gripoix pretty thoroughly in the video. Maybe take another look.
@SwordofLight2 ай бұрын
Thank you... maybe a hangtag was removed..hmmmm....no signature on the clasp other than the C (unusual closure) D... I will keep investigating.
@chapelhillvintagejewels2 ай бұрын
@@SwordofLight Yes, more investigation needed. I have an example in the video of a C D closure but it also has a hang tag.

I just watched your video, and I must confess I am one of those people who you may have gritted your teeth and shook your fist at in annoyance. I have a lovely Grosse brooch listed and I thought it was Dior as well. You schooled me, for sure!!! I've corrected the listing. Everything I was able to find while researching pointed me in that direction and I fell for it. Hook, line and sinker. What a knucklehead I am! Thank you so very much for putting me straight. You are a wealth of information. I have watched many of your videos more than once, I must add. Each time, I glean just a bit more information I missed the first time around. I encourage others to do the same. Thank you again!!!

Exquisite! You have some beautiful pieces, Julie. I love Christian Dior. I have a few of his jewelry pieces, but more so I have several vintage bags from the 60s and 70s which I use regularly. I’m actually using some bags as small carry on luggage today as I travel. They are amazing and very durable. Thank you for the video! I’m going to look for the book. The book (which I found one) is around $750.00.

I'm a man that Loves costume jewelry! I found two pairs of ciner clip on earrings my mother was parting with. Found it odd, an earring has a pat 156452 inside on clasps, logo name outside on clasp. OMG! Pat's glass pearl double broach is beautiful. To see Mrs Pat's jewelry what she parted with or donated, what was given away is intriguing. It's almost the costume jewelry version of Elizabeth Taylor. Reading everything on her right now..😍thk you!😘💕

The patent number is for the clip mechanism, not the design of the earrings. Pat's necklace is my favorite thing in my collection! I loved your comments, thank you! Today, I am working on a new video on Dior and Grosse jewelry. Make sure you follow me so you can see when it posts.

Yes those different names of the country are quite confusing. Some of them seem to be English, the ones starting with T German. I think the naming was conditioned by the market where the items were exported. Even currently two names of the country are used - Czech Republic and more recent and shorter Czechia. BTW the north of the country is also known for handmade and handpainted Christmas decorations made of glass which are also worth checking out. ❤
