23;50 - my understanding breaks here, for good. You are pure awareness, you are not what you are aware of, but the objects you are aware of, are non other than you. I understand the limitations of language not suited to convey the non-dual truths, but this is just a pure tautology ... I keep on coming to these videos hoping in one of them it will be explained with the subtle, minute alteration, a different angle, a different anaology allowing to grasp the concept, but unfortunately nada ...

The problem is the mind tries to grasp it,it shouldn't, stop trying, it will enter your consciousness and the concept will start getting clear over time, when we try then the ego still wants to get the experience and say i now have the experience 😂😂

Namaste , the question that even after realisation the world can look horrible to you ,point is that after realisation the horribleness of the world is actually cognized ,what we initially took for granted that the horribleness is part of life and its that way,it cannot be changed, at best some kind of balm can be applied but it will appear as part of karma etc,but after realisation the true solutions to the problems also come, because we realise that The Brahman which is ananda joy etc cannot remain horrible if its truly advaita, then the distortion has to be temporary and the true solutions surface, and we start moving towards the permanent eradication of the root of the problem which is a distortion in conscioussness itself. In short only after Brahman realisation the real solutions surface, and thats how the creation starts moving towards the Truth or Satya yuga.

Apologies as this is a bit long, but I thought this appendix on the nature of the Avatar, from Sri Krishnaprem’s Gita commentary, might be of interest. It may help to keep in mind that Sri Aurobindo expressed very high praise of Sri Krishnaprem’s spiritual “realizations” (as did Sri Aurobindo’s collaborator, Mirra Alfassa or “the Mother.” Ramana Maharshi spoke of Sri krishnaprem as embodying “a rare combination of Bhakta and Jnani.” KRISHNA PREM APPENDIX D NOTE ON AVATĀRAS AS chapter four (particularly verses 6 to 8) is the main authority for the doctrine of Avatāras or Divine Incarnations it is perhaps desirable to say a word or two on the subject. According to orthodox tradition certain times in the history of the world have been marked by direct Divine “descents.” Besides less-known ones, Rāma Chandra, Sri Krishna, Buddha and, by the more liberal-minded, Christ are usually considered as such. There is a well-known list of ten which is generally accepted, though the Bhāgawata has a less widely known list of twenty-four. The doctrine is accepted as a relative truth by the Advaita Vedānta school, though in strict accuracy it can find little place in Advaita thought, for which all forms and all births are due to ignorance. In reality the teaching belongs, to the Bhāgawata (Vaishnava) tradition, though accepted by all others with the exception of one or two “protestant” modern sects. The Avatāras, scholastically defined as descents from beyond the five-fold universe into it (aprapañchāt prapañche avatīrna), are of many sorts. There are manifestations undertaken for a special purpose, such as that of Nrisingha, the so-called Man-Lion, and descents in animal forms, probably symbolic, such as the Matsya or Fish Avatāra, perhaps connected with the Chaldaean Oannes, the Man-Fish who swam up the Persian Gulf to teach wisdom to the Sumerian dwellers in Eridu. Apart from these, there are the “descents” in human form of whom the most famous are Sri Rāma Chandra and Sri Krishna. They are classified as partial Descents (anshāvatāra) and full, in the sense that while the former manifest only a particular selection of the Divine Powers, the latter manifest them in their fulness. It is universally held that Sri Krishna is such a Full Avatāra, and indeed, some schools, following the Bhāgawata tradition, go further and affirm that He is the actual source or root of all the other Avatāras. Be that as it may, tradition represents Him as manifesting in their fulness the Divine Wisdom and Power from the very moment of His birth. In addition to these types of Avatars there are many other perhaps the only one we need notice is the Ávesha Avatāra, an overshadowing of some highly evolved human soul for a particular purpose. Vyāsa, the classifier of the Vedas and revealer of so many other Scriptures, including the Mahābhārata itself (and of course the Gita), is sometimes held to be an instance of this type of Avatāra in which the Divine Consciousness overshadows and takes possession of a human soul. Such is the account given by tradition and accepted by Hindus in general. A view has sometimes been put forward that all Avatāras are really of this last class, and that, in all cases, the actual avataraṇa is really the answering “descent” called out, as it were, from the Eternal by the aspiration of an “ascending” human soul, and manifesting thereafter through him, so that “he” is no more a man as we understand the term but a vehicle for the manifestation of the Supreme.

For folks who have any remaining doubts on the value of "Essays on the Gita," this story might help. Dilip Kumar Roy, who was one of the most famous singer-composers of Indian classical music in the early to mid 1900s, was also a disciple of Sri Aurobindo, who wrote over 4000 letters to Dilip (more than he wrote to any other individual disciple) When Dilip first heard about Sri Aurobindo, and read his writings, he was somewhat doubtful (they are, as Swamiji noted in this video, quite hard to read when you first come across them). But Dilip was dear friends with Sri Krishnaprem (a British man who was the first Westerner ever accepted into the Vaishnava order, and a yogi who was greatly admired by both Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, as also by Ramana Maharshi). it was when Sri Krishnaprem happened to mention to Dilip that he considered Sri Aurobindo's Gita commentary the best ever written, that Dilip got over his reservations, went to visit Sri Aurobindo and ultimately became one of his foremost disciples. I'll just add - it was my own experience (having read Krishnaprem's extraordinary Gita commentary daily from the time I found it, on January 1, 1975) that it took just a few weeks of daily reading of Essays on the Gita for those long, complex sentences to go from difficult to delicious, delightful and doorways to an ever-deepening appreciation and experience of the integral teachings of the Gita.

I would make a distinction between from consciousness and awarenes. Sarvapriyananda used these 2 terms as equivalent and he is correct from his superior point of view. But the problem is that ordinary people use these terms as synonyms and even first class modern scientist wrongly do that. For ordinary people awarenes is awarenes of THINGS, objects. But in deep sleep there is not this awareness, only consciousness. For enlightened people, in samadhi there is pure awareness without objects and only in this condition consciousness is equivalent to awareness.

Namaste Thanks for the words of wisdom. Desires, thoughts and mind go back in many lifetimes deeper in DNA subcellular, subatomic quantum energetic realms. Besides mental, intellectual understanding we must have direct energetic means with prana, ojas and tejas. How can we gain control on ourselves without activating sushumna and active flow of kundalini prior to which removing all karmic debt and purification of five elements?
