Take a medium sized Allen Wrench. It needs a long handle, & about the thickness of the width your patio tiles are set. Then take some vice grips. Put them on the long end. Use this to lift the tiles. Just insert into space, turn, & lift. A wooden handle might replace the vise grips. There might even be a tool, already made for this task!
