This number does something to someone, doesn't it? Yes, it does us good, to be sure, but it goes deeper than that, grabs us somewhere down in our souls, stirs our blood, energizes our spirits, and makes us recall how it once felt to fall in love with a very special child. Jolson truly "gets" this sequence & the young actress Sybil Jason doesn't miss a beat. I'm a huge Jolson fan but have never seen this film. I'm certain that finally watching it would do me a world of, well, good!

I am 84 and bless.the days of my youth, the joy of first dates, falling in love, but i think most of all the besutiful music we enjoyed. Singers who could sing, so much talent, no rapping no foul language, sheer enjoyment. I am doubly blessed to have a son, spencer robson, he has a truly lovely voice, writes wonderful lyrics to his songs, and so all of the wonderful voices of my generation are remembered, of this i am sure

Scotty Beckett was a wonderful young Jolson. So sad how his life unfolded.

Larry Parks was perfection. What happened to him in real life is truly a Hollywood tragedy. So handsome, so talented. Never get tired watching this movie.

I used to have a 78 of this song sung as a duet by Al Jolson and Bing Crosby. It sounded great on my wind-up Victrola!

Please. It's a great song by a great singer but it's been recorded by dozens of great singers. Let us remember who wrote the song--both the music and the lyrics: Irving Berlin. Was there ever a greater composer/lyricist??? EVER??
