The real question is whether a 250 grain jacketed and bonded bullet will open up on, say, a whitetail deer at 200 yards or so?

Had a zone 2 tag back in 2021. Stayed at the NMW fish lake camping spot 3 times that summer scouting with good friends and family. Came home from the October hunt with a beautiful bull 48” 726 if i remember correctly. The whole hunts on KZbin. Check out Matt Johnson’s channel backwoods wanderer for the lamberts moose hunt. Very emotional hunt. Shot the bull with my late grandfathers gun who was with me back in 2011 when i shot my first bull in zone 2. Love to see other peoples moose hunts one here as well. Happy hunting!!

Congrats. But i hope its not public. I hate asshats yelling in the woods like they are the only ones out.

Those woodman guns are really nice. But I can’t part with my Knight ultra lite in .45. Quick detach warne ring and bases with a Leupold vx2 2-7x with Parker productions Ballistic extremes in 300 grain sized to bore in a press. -1/2” MOA with 120 by volume of blackhorn 209 federal primers.

Nice, I emailed Woodman yesterday concerning this topic as I live in NY and BH 209 is unavailable to locate. Yes, it's on line but NY laws are so confusing it appears it needs to be sent to an FFL for an additional cost. I'll be locating some N110. My partial question concerning the standard breech plug was overlooked in the response. Is the 'standard breech plug' ok to use with the recommended 40 grain by weight charge of N110?

nice ! good shooting . I have a few rifles like that for thick mountain hunting out in the Pacific Northwest . What caliber are you poking them with. Mine are both 06 . One with the original wood stock for fair weather and the second with a composite sock that can get soaked and will not bother it

Great conversation. I find it hard to get a better processed deer than I can do it myself and agree that it is equally as much of the experience as harvesting the deer.

Crazy thing is that it’s so hard to get that close to deer in its own environment and to have at 20 or so yds is quite the accomplishment the buck is appreciated for what it is . Not how big but for the pure love of the hunt . The excitement is as real as it gets thanks for sharing this hunt it only motivates us all👍💯
