@nnznikol26 күн бұрын
Of course, the program has many different functions, to be honest, I didn’t use more than half when creating my music)) I don’t remember much now, but in general there is a detailed description for Symphonie in several languages. From what I remember, I liked the sample sliding function, and there was also a sample remix function that allowed you to change sound of the original sample. But the most surprising thing about the program compared to any other trackers, of course, was its surround sound, which is created by a software DSP processor. It could be controlled from track, turning the effect on and off, as for example here in intro of Antarctica track kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWrIh6WDhZ2qe7s

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you right now, my system has crashed and I’ve been trying for a long time and persistently to save information from my SSD. In general, it is better to use Symphonie with video card emulation, then you can adjust any resolution. Here is my earlier video when I was using Windows 7 and the video card emulation worked kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4qYemaJhsakitk But when I switched to Windows 10, I couldn’t get WINUAE to work with the video card and selected the optimal mode from standard PAL, but I can’t specify which one..

Great stuff!!! But... is there something wrong with playback speed (PAL vs NTSC) or so? Those sample loops on the first song sound too rough.

Thanks! I use WINUAE emulator to record video. The tracks are first rendered into a WAV file with a frequency of 44166. Then I do a little post-processing (normalization + maximizer) and then manually synchronize it with the screen recording video. Therefore, the synchronization may not be perfect)

In other words. If Speccy had one more Zilog as a control/mixer CPU for sound and at least 128KB RAM for samples, you could have it in every game as a small amiga. heh.

For video I use WINUAE emulator. I chose 68030 processor, but recently I noticed that Symphonie works better if you choose 68040. 25 years ago I had an Amiga-1200 and Blizzard accelerator with 68030 processor, and it was this music that I listened to with pleasure then)) Also, depending on the processor power, you can adjust the sampling frequency, I think that can even turn on these tracks on 68020 processor, but with a frequency of 8000-10000 KHz :)

1:18 Nice try with the Spectrum emulator. Is this running on an actual Amiga or is this emul-ception?
@nnznikol2 ай бұрын
Yes, a long time ago I ran ZX-Spectrum emulator on a real Amiga-1200. Here in the video is a recording from Amiga emulator, I tried to run ZX emulator in it and it also works) but it was very slow due to the fact that Symphonie is running in parallel and takes up almost all the processor time.

What kind of cpu and MHz is being emulated to play this? 128 channels sounds like a lot even for a 68060
@nnznikol3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. I wouldn't check it myself) I made 128 channel tracks in the emulator by selecting CPU 68030 or 68040, but the main thing is CPU Emulation Speed - Fasted possibile, this allowed for comfortable editing and listening at a frequency of 22000 - 28500, lowering the frequency if stopped due to a slow processor. The final version was rendered at a frequency of 44166 into a WAV file and recorded on an CD =) and now I did a little test)) if you select a 68030 processor with enabled coprocessors in the emulator. and CPU Emulation Speed - Approximate A500/A1200, then this track can be played in full only with a frequency of 4907 and if you choose a 68040 processor, then the frequency can already be raised to 13567 68060 does not run in my emulator, but it seems to me that on a real Amiga with such a processor, 128 channel tracks should play at a comfortable frequency of 20000-22000. A little later I’ll post a link to SymMOD file itself, it would be interesting if someone checked how it plays on real Amigas =))
