I saw Jack Pye wrestling in the Blackpool Circus arena. It is a great venue with the ring surrounded by stalls and balconies on all sides. Jack had an amazing ability to rile up the crowds. Women used to run to the ring screaming and attempting to hit him with umbrellas, (which he sometimes snatched and broke). The crowd noise would get so intense there was no chance of hearing the bell. What a fantastic showman he was. True “King of the Mat” as he was known in Blackpool.

If they would have had smoke on the other side of the drummer also, it would be a pretty awesome set

Holy-moly! Given all the wild theatrical gyrations the band endured---while wearing suits and dress shoes{!)---it might have actually been a Nighmare being a Dreamer. 😬

"Gimme Some Lovin" was definitely a direct attack on Hermans Hermits who was in the same musical bracket as Freddie during the British Invasion. Peter acts like a cute little boy onstage when singing "Mrs Brown" and a few others. It looks as though Freddie pretends to be Peter, can't hold back being Freddiness inside (the jumps), and then the band gives up on him. LOL

Really, that would not go over today, they wouldn’t even make on America got talent, the man could sing but the screaming and jumping around were a turn off part of the reason they didn’t last as long as other groups of their period 🤷‍♂️
