Is diamond guard just a trap triangle with lapel control on an opponent, with broken posture??
@clinchacademy2816
@clinchacademy2816 8 ай бұрын
Diamond guard is basically just when you have a closed guard (ankles crossed) around the head and arm. From diamond guard you can easily transition to a triangle, kimura, omoplata, and other submission attacks.

@@clinchacademy2816 I do like how the top leg position in rodeo guard is really well set up to drop onto their far trap. In rodeo guard, is it wise to bait the top foot near their farside posting hand so they can try and free it, helping to drop them right into diamond guard?

I'm a black belt under the Luiz Palhares asso and I use this EXACT same system almost verbatim. I've been doing it so long I don't even remember where I saw it originally lol (of if I just kind of cobbled it together) Nice to see someone else having developed along the same lines :)

They could wrap both their feet around your legs, what would you do then? They have you in a proper choke hold, theyre pinning your legs, AND theyre having a toghter and tighter grip by the second, adding on to the fact you cant breath.

You have to fight the hooks and go to your back. You give up position but defense the choke

How do you break your opponents hand grip? This can be a big problem when they dont give you their arm
@clinchacademy2816
@clinchacademy2816 Жыл бұрын
Focus on getting the roll first and then break the grip when they are on their back as you usually would.
