Bro ngl, my mom just retired as a teacher, I do not wish that fate on anyone. Unless you truly love it, you should look into a new career. $82k a year is fantastic and I can tell you worked really hard, but you as a college educated adult should not have 2 jobs or have to rely on social media money. I promise you the outlook isn’t good and inflation will kill you your entire career

For this too work the person only has 25% of the dividend because you have to put it back into the principal. There is also more risk that comes with this. A 4% dividend could be done spreading over a few stocks but there is probably 5% risk. Safer funs like s&p only pay a 1-2% dividend

@@olivercameron6299 I was assuming they were using dividend etf with a 3.5-5% return in dividends where you don’t have to put anything back into the principal only getting dividends vs selling to use that percentage

MAIN is one of my longest time stocks and my biggest gainer overall. Everytime i would look at reviews, it was always a hold opinion. I went against that and i consider MAIN just a stock im willing to pay a premium for. I would urge you to do the same. Some stocks are just worth it.

@@retingo7940 well remember 2 things, teachers only get paid 10 months out of the year and I work another job. But together I make about $84ish a year. In December I got bonuses that weren’t taxed unfortunately that’s why taxes were so low!

@@chasec919 lol I said in my credit card was all other expenses. Everything that can be put on a CC for points will be including food, gas, etc… I have a full budget breakdown as well

As a 55 year old who started investing in my early 20s PLEASE keep going!! I wasted 30 years investing in bonds and international. No disrespect to the Bogleheads but it’s old school. I wish SCHD was a thing back then. My portfolio is sitting at $724k. Had I been dividend investing like you are now then I would have doubled that amount and be retired by now. SCHD FOR LIFE!! Great job!! 🎉

Well, I just got a job and have started investing January like 2-3, I just happened to turn 18 too. I'm putting 10 in BTC every day and then 100 in VOO (S&P) and then 75 in QQQ. also like 30 bucks a week in this robo invester thingy. What do you think? I'm not experienced enough to start buying actual stock like you I don't think haha just ETF's atm/

@@TripinU First and foremost you are doing amazing as a beginning investor congratulations thats truly amazing that you have that discipline at the start I didn't even have that! I always emphasize investing into S&P (VOO/VTI for me) and you will end up better than 90% of portfolios out there. If you want to invest into invest into individual stocks at the same time as you build you base (which you are already doing!) there is nothing wrong with that but again it depends on what you want. I personally want passive income thats why I have 2 portfolios, my Roth IRA following the market VOO/VTI and the portfolio that you see from this video!

@@jbrockskill the S&P returned 25% so technically I lost out on 7% but you have to remember you will pay taxes in order to actualize those gains vs dividends that you may pay less in taxes at the current moment!
